Please name the 25% of politicians in Washington, DC who ARE fit to serve.
Don't buy this CYA crap.
1920 - a nickel, 1930 - a nickel, 1940 - a nickel, 1950 - a nickel. As late as 1959, you could buy a 6-and-a-half-ounce bottle of Coca-Cola for one nickel.
Or let them attend an army basic training fat camp.
Every class had a Fat Albert or two, but they certainly weren’t the norm. Blow up smart phones and computers and things would at least somewhat change.
“Please name the 25% of politicians in Washington, DC who ARE fit to serve.”
You got me there.
Think about it: you could buy every kid on the baseball team a Coke for less that 50 cents total.
Of course, gasoline was about 20 or 21 cents a gallon. But for that price some gasoline companies would either give you a premium of one new penny back, or dishes for the table.
If you didn't buy gasoline they would still check the oil, add water, check the tires, clean the windshield, and sweep the car out.
I’m not sure it’s even 2.5% ...
I remember Shell giving my dad a drinking glass for each fill up and my mom anxiously waiting to have a set of 6.
In 63 I started driving at age 16 in December. Paid 23.9 a gallon for gas at Jimmy’s, self Serve, Holt Ave Pomona CA. Hard to find a self serve in those days.
I remember one where the employee came out and watched people pump their own gas; just standing there doing nothing but waiting to collect the money.
Classic.
being overweight was unusual and obese people were oddities...
I just passed through the Atlanta airport last weekend. LOTS of fat bodies and freakshows.
