I think they are already banned. Assault Rifles are semi-full auto rifles. You have to be a licensed gun dealer to even have a permit to own one. The ones used in the movies are owned by a specific company that is licensed to have those. And licensed gun collectors.
The semi autos are not Assault Rifles.
The Left just plays word games — “assault rifle” is defined as “guns we don’t like”. A snub-nosed .38 could be an “assault rifle” if you squint just right. And then you can ban it.
None of them are. Militarily they are defined as "small arms"
Also, banning "high capacity" mags is essentially a partial ban on all semi auto firearms. ("high capacity" as defined by who and how?)
Since you have either a single shot or you have a semi auto, any size magazine is high capacity since it hold multiples of more rounds than a single. Even a wheel gun could be called high capacity since it holds 6 times as many rounds as a single shot. 600%! Thank of that!
Actually, most states allow ownership of machine guns, you just have to send your fingerprints to the Treasury and a $200 check and the serial number of the weapon you’re buying. The NFA branch of the ATF is the agency that keeps track of owners of the Class III weapons and suppressors.
