Just another imperialist/colonialist episode where the evil white people — most of them undoubtedly cishet, misogynist, and Christian — defeated hopelessly outnumbered valiant defenders, who were people of color. Probably wiped them out with their white supremicist death vision. And then they raised an infamous symbol of racism and oppression on the top of Mount Suribachi.
