It’s far more likely that the Belarus situation will apply.

Russians in Transnistria will go thru the motions and advertise their love for Moscow and condemn Ukraine’s evil rejection of the invading forces, proclaim their intent to repel any hypothetical invasion by Kyiv...

And then sit on their hands, like the Belorussians.

They know they’re in a uniquely privileged position. No orders yet from Moscow, and look at the idiots that got their orders.

LDPR forces are decimated and split, with fighting now breaking out between its conscripts and the Russians.

Crimean Russians who signed up for the fight have either been killed or are holding onto Crimea to avoid going to the Front.

Where are all the Chechens? They were the poster boys in Mariupol. The only one now visible is Kadyrov, getting medals for bravery from himself while never actually going near the fighting.

The Russians in Transnistria would be far better off unilaterally declaring themselves neutral and supporting Russia simply by making sure Ukraine and Moldova can’t access that massive stockpile of kit.

Exactly. Especially since Ukraine has every right to attack Belarus because it hosted Russian forces for the invasion of Ukraine, and one of the routes of invasion was from Belarus; and yet Ukraine’s military has not attacked or invaded Belarus. Russia did not use Transnistria to launch any part of its invasion of Ukraine.
