Michael Hugo resigned as the chair of the Framingham Democratic Committee in Massachusetts on Thursday following weeks of backlash for complaining about the cost of special needs education for children who are not aborted.

"I have apologized profusely too many times, but it seems obvious to all objective observers that there is something unusual about this particular crisis, in that it has an extraordinary life," Hugo wrote in an email to the committee and obtained by Fox News. "Time will tell as to why this has become a — literally — international story, and why it has been amplified by the Chair of the Ashland Republican Committee."

I suspect he is shocked. Democrats are not supposed to suffer repercussions for their remarks regarding the educational needs of children.

It is not given to me to judge him, but only to God.

It seems clear to me however, that this guy CAN’T truly understand what the big deal is.

The seeming fact that he can’t makes the point perfectly.

May he be led in paths that will show him.

It is amazing the number of democrats who apologize, not for what they said, but because they said it out loud, and thus “distracted from their party’s mission”.

I do not have any autistic children or grandchildren myself, but given the rise of autism, I know many people that do. All love their child or grandchild and wouldn’t abandon them for anything.

Before retirement from my job, I was one of the people charged with making sure our autistic mail clerk stayed on task once she delivered the mail, rather than staying more than just a few minutes to chat with those in the office.

JA (as we called her) worked hard and completed every project given her (loved the job of shredding old documents), and simply had to be reminded occasionally that we had work to do and so did she so we all needed to get back to it. She was so proud of her job and the independence it gave her. Her parents and family were proud of her as well. She provided a great service to our office at a level that was comfortable for her and her abilities and we appreciated her contributions to our office family.

To suggest that JA had no value to society or could not enjoy life is such an insult to God’s creations. Michael Hugo doesn’t even understand why it was such an insult or why it was made into an issue. I believe he apologized because it was expected of him after the outrage, but still has no idea as to why people are offended at such an attitude.

Would you look at your grandchild after a diagnosis of autism, and just tell your family, “Well we may as well just dispose of the child, or put him/her in foster care, because we certainly don’t want to love such a person?. If so, you need to rethink your priorities in life.
