Romney really was an outstandingly good governor. I recall when a concrete tile killed a woman in the Ted Williams tunnel. Romney, who did not have legal authority over the project demanded, and got!, the resignation of the manager of the Bid Dig. Romney clearly understood the problem, took charge and remediated the tunnel is a brisk and efficient matter. In general Romney handled people well, outside of this incident.
People like to complain about RINO governors. During the George Floyd riots, our current governor, Maura Healy, who at the time was attorney general said “America is burning but that’s how forests grow.” SMH. Charlie Baker, a true RINO, was governor. There was an illegal, and unpermitted demonstration in Boston City Hall Plaza by BLM at that time, planned for a Saturday. There was no prior announcement in the local news. Baker, who must have gotten word of the demonstration from police intelligence, called up 1,000 National Guard, who surrounded Boston City Hall Plaza in military vehicles. The mostly peaceful demonstration remained almost completely peaceful, the few breaches of the peace were handled by the Boston Police Department, and the George Floyd angel of death passed Boston by.
Gawd help us if Healy had been governor. Even a RINO is better than any Democrat.
Romney had a 30% approval rating when he left office in Mass.
Really? I know three Republicans from Massachusetts and they all despise Romney.
