No bail and no brains: Seattle judge releases accused mass shooter
Washington Examiner ^ | March 1, 2023 | David Freddoso

Usually, when we talk about cashless bail, we're talking about suspects who go on to commit murders after they're released — not the ones already accused of killing one innocent bystander and shooting six other people (including a child) in the downtown area of a major city during rush hour. But not in Seattle, where it looks like the judges let everyone out .

Note that this is one case where the prosecutor at least tried to keep the accused perp in jail, which is more than you can say for a lot of jurisdictions nowadays :

A King County judge granted pre-trial release to a man accused of killing one person and shooting six others in the Jan. 2020 mass shooting in downtown Seattle. That means William Tolliver could walk out as soon as today, though he is still currently in jail as of this reporting.

While he awaits trial, Tolliver will have to wear an ankle bracelet and live with his grandmother, thanks to this ruling, which the Seattle Times attributes to Chief Criminal Judge Karen Donohue. Tolliver has not yet been convicted of this crime, which caused one death and six injuries. But he has a history of violating court orders and a rap sheet that includes illegal gun possession. Also, the evidence against him in this crime is at least sufficient to justify holding him as a danger to the community and a flight risk — after all, he ran as far as Southern Nevada after the 2020 shooting.

Pity if he should not get past the door at the court house.

Wow..

You wonder. Is this THE one?

Will an accused mass shooter. Let out on $0 bail. Do it again? (it is not like he has a lot to look forward to career wise and standard of living)

And then finally even the most left wing nut jobs will say. Gee maybe this really isn’t a good idea?

Did the prosecutor not use the suspects preferred pronoun?

This is the State wanting to enact a purchase permitting system for gun purchases. And the state ag want to establish a ministry of truth to be run out of his office. Amazing and Seattle considers itself an intellectual city. Hahaha, just the opposite.

Next story - some Seattle Lib crying about how she was raped or mugged by this guy. You voted for this Seattle. You’re gonna have to live with it until you start voting the other way.

This nation is upside down and ass-backwards.

I met a US Marine vet at church whom served 20 years with an honorable discharge and many military service medals. Never had anything illegal other than parking tickets until 5 years after his retirement when he was arrested for a DUI while he was “sleeping it off” in his truck outside the bar he was drinking in. He wasn’t driving and the keys were not in the ignition but the cops still arrested him and the judge gave him 12 days in county jail and 18 months of alcohol counseling plus a $1200 fine.

Yet, that same judge has no compunction about releasing black gangbangers suspected of murder back onto the street without bail on their own recognizance.

Call me a racist if it makes you feel better, but that is both unacceptable and an unconstitutional double standard. It is serious bullsquat and must be stopped.

And people wonder why so many vets are homeless and living hand to mouth on the street.

SMDH.

Having a college degree just means you can pass tests. Wisdom, rational thought, and discernment not required.

It’s getting very close to vigilantes doing what needs to be done. They walk without bail, they will be taking dirt naps.

You voted for this Seattle. You’re gonna have to live with it until you start voting the other way.

"Voting" ain't gonna fix this.

King County has had blatantly crooked elections for decades. So has Pierce County. The rest of the State does not really count. The Democrat party committee decides who will be "elected" to office.

This problem gets fixed when committee member's friends and relatives get killed by criminals out on "no-bail" pre-trial release. Maybe. If they were fond of them.
