Does Pennsylvania have a provision for a special election to fill a vacant senate seat?
In some other States , the governor appoints someone to fill a vacant senate seat until the next regularly scheduled election.
I don’t know for sure but I’ve read we want him to stay in office until a certain point so that there is a special election. Republicans would be stupid asking him to resign if that’s the case.
It Fetterman resigns by mid August, there will be a special election in November. Newly elected Senator is seated immediately. If it’s after, Shapiro’s appointee is Senator until the next statewide election, in 2024 I thin.
i think they have to prop up fetterman until august to avoid a special election
The rats only have to run out the clock until mid August. I believe at that point the rat Governor can appoint.
With the Bolshevik that we have in the governors office right now, we do not want him appointing anyone…
Special election would be better, but he’ll never let that happen
The governor can appoint but I believe if it’s before August, then we would have a special election this year.
Yes, but their is a deadline. Fetterman is holed up to avoid the deadline for a special election. Once that date is past, Shapiro can appoint a new Senator if Fetterman steps down or dies. Some speculate that he’s already brain dead and on life support.
