The biggest group claiming to be LGBT is bisexual. It’s not uncommon for women to be a bit “bisexual” in their youth, and that includes Boomers. Women are generally more touchy feely than men, trying on clothing, applying makeup, etc together. Experimentation is not the same thing as a gender identity, because most of those youthful bisexuals are not routinely having sex with both sexes. Most end up heterosexual. The only difference between then and now is that claiming bisexuality has even less social stigma then it had decades ago.

The problem is not that there is less social stigma—it is that are positive incentives for claiming to be a lesbian or bisexual.
It helps with college admissions.
It helps with obtaining jobs, particularly in certain sectors.
It help with political careers in big cities.
This is about incentives—people will take advantage of the “system” any way that can.
