To turn the mode off, users need to go into their iPhone settings, click "Battery," "Battery Health & Charging," then turn off "Clean Energy Charging."It’s not in my IOS. 😊😆

Battery -> Battery Health and Charging Service -> clean Energy Charging

I am up to date. IOS 16.3.1. They know exactly where I am. That’s why it’s not in my settings.

That makes sense.
Well... enjoy your fossil fuel charging with joy!

I’m in Ontario Canada so it doesn’t apply apparently and almost all my electricity comes from two large nuclear power plants here but I nevertheless on principle turned it off. I suppose should I ever visit the US the last thing I want is this idiot feature kicking in..

Does anyone think that EV charging won’t be controlled by the same foolishness? When gas cars are in the junk heap, and you have an EV, the charger will be controlled by a central authority, and you will be unable to charge your car at times dictated by the all-knowing, all-powerful Energy Czars. This is why they want to make us switch from gas to electric ovens and then go after our gas water heaters and furnaces.

Ooh, something that hurts Apple. I’m for it.
Let’s not forget how all Apple crap is made in factories owned by the CCP. Yeah, Apple spent the “investment”. But, if the local gov’mt totally controls what you do, THEY OWN YOU.

How does it control charging IN your car????
To: BobL
Years ago (late 80s) the apartment I was in had a device that could remotely turn off the water heater elements during periods of peak usage. It is damned annoying to come in from a day’s work only to have a lukewarm shower.

I expect very, very soon That china will no longer manufacture things for the United States which means apple will have to open the factory here and the price of the iPhone will necessarily skyrocket

Obviously I’m in the minority here, but I don’t see this as a big deal. We know that electricity sourced from “renewable” sources doesn’t work too well either at night (solar) or in calm winds (wind-turbine). So having smart-phones grab their juice at a time when there’s an abundance of these sources on the grid doesn’t bother me.
I’d rather that than millions of phones charging when the grid IS under stress, and the all-powerful electric utilities decide we need a rolling blackout, and where I then don’t have heat or A/C.
That said, when my phone is dead because it wouldn’t let me charge when I needed to would piss me off.
