They can send one under the hull and crack it open...or use a nuclear tipped torpedo.
No carriers?
If we were to outbuild China and have the most ships, we would still be putting a bunch of faggots and other LMNOQ sailors on them who will not be a good fighting force.
Same here.
Having ships doesn’t mean successfully projecting power, that comes with experience.
IIRC we built 26 of the Essex class fleet carriers during the war.
It’s exactly the same. Before WWII everybody knew Japan was weak and the US Navy would roll over them easily. They were blind in coke bottle glasses, their planes and ships were crap.
Turned out their rifle and machine gun marksmanship was deadly. Their fighters were world beaters and we were way behind. Radar was in it’s infancy so navy ships depended on visual lookouts at night. Theirs were so good that they routinely saw our ships several miles before we saw them.
Japanese battleships had handcrafted lenses that were so precise it’s said the Yamato’s sights only had a deviation of about a foot viewing something 20 miles away. In addition, the Japanese had conscripted Taiwanese Takasago, who were known for their night vision, and filled them up with carotene. They were the Japanese night lookouts.
And people like you back then were pushing the bucktooth, blind Jap with crappy equipment. Your thinking about the Chinese navy is very deadly to believe too much.
Go ahead, hope it’s true, but it isn’t likely. At this moment a Chinese rover is crawling around the Moon in it’s 5th year, and their lander sent back information from the dark side of the moon. Most of the computers and phones you use are made there.
We’re flying a helicopter on Mars.
The only thing of quality ever manufactured by the Chinese was Covid 19
I heard this in the 80’s only to find out later the Soviets had inferior crap
We have more materials than they do.
Got more fuel
Got more friends
and way more experience...
China is no where Blue Water capable.
They are currently a largely gray water navy...
True. But my point is that China isn’t as backwards as some like to believe. It’s foolish to judge they would be a pushover.
That is a problem, but if our society had morals, work ethic, respect, and dedication - then traitors would be harshly dealt with.
As it currently stands, the cultural rot is full of maggots and a deadly cancer. There’s no coming back either.
Agree. I think we make a grave error in underestimating our opponent.
Our industrial capacity is about gone, the government is broke, and China has won.
CVNs have a honeycomb keel designed to withstand multiple torpedo hits.
I heard a naval expert on War Room say that only 10% of China’s navy can sail more than 400 miles from shore.
I wonder if that is true?
Shipbuilding is pure manual labor. China has lots more hands to labor than we do. Add slave labor and they are going to outbuild us if they want to. We need to build better ships.
Well China has lacked overseas bases, and it certainly lacks war fighting experience.
For certain we are a lot more capable of projecting sea power to their region, than they would be able to do off the coast of California.
They also are surrounded by adversaries in their region.
“China’s city building is amazing, while the best of US cities was built in the last century.”
China has a number of ghost cities where few, if any, live. Buildings built just a few years ago are deteriorating rapidly. Bridges collapse, sink holes appear in streets and buildings fall over. Tofu-dreg construction is what the Chinese call it.
For one: the Navy can’t keep up because most shipyards have been closed.
For another: lack of warm bodies to man the ships.
