Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said Sunday that Poland is in talks with the Biden administration about increasing the U.S. troop presence in his country as President Biden prepares to visit Poland this week to mark the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
"We are in the process of discussion with President Biden's administration about making their presence more permanent, and increasing them," Morawiecki told "Face the Nation" moderator Margaret Brennan.
He also expressed gratitude for weaponry provided by the United States, and reiterated the importance of NATO for deterring Russian aggression.

How much does that cost ?
Are there not enough Poles willing to defend Poland?
Tons of Poles. Limited equipment. More than the usual Euro country, but Poland is on the front line and committed moreover to support the Baltics.
A lot. Better by far to provide equipment to the Ukrainians and Poles.
So they are inviting Russia to build-up a presence on it’s border. If they are lucky the Russians may even consider this a threat and invade Poland when they are done with Ukraine. I mean, its what we would do.
Make them pay dearly.
Germany doesn’t pay nearly enough.
You war mongers are all alike. There’s never enough blood and suffering for you.
I once recommended moving the bases from Germany to Poland... but that was then.
Poland’s issue has never been lack of manpower. Even lack of equipment isn’t the main problem usually. It’s just got a really bad geopolitical situation. Stuck between Germany and Russia, near the Baltic but with hardly any access to it, and with very few natural barriers around its borders to keep enemies out. Poland is just cursed by fate to be a natural “pitstop” between anyone who either wants to invade Europe or invade Russia.
With this Biden administration violating neutrality committing acts of war, we’re going need troops at the ready because Russia has every right to defend now.
“There’s never enough blood and suffering for you.”
Agreed. Plenty of those at FR. No skin in the game, but bored and lonely keyboard warriors will say and do anything to keep their depression at bay, and nothing does that better than a war on the other side of the planet.
Trump pulled 9,500 troops out of Germany and signed a deal to move about 2,000 to Poland. Of course the left was apoplectic and claimed Trump was ruining our relations with Germany and sending troops to "far right" Poland. If idiot Biden does the same thing, he will be hailed as brilliant and heroic. At least Poland actually likes the US, and spends well above the 2% requirement of NATO.
I suggest you consult with the Poles. They are very close to the situation, being on the frontline, and have definite conclusions about the situation. If they are “warmongers” then you have a strange definition of that.
No doubt they’ve been talking to the US intelligence apparatus and they’ve been telling them oh it’s easy Russia is gonna be a pushover
This is historically true, but yet Poland has managed to gain and keep its independence for extended periods, and beat back numerous invasions.
“”I once recommended moving the bases from Germany to Poland... but that was then.””
When Trump reactivated V Corps he did move its European headquarters from Germany to Poland, which is why the 101st Airborne is there.
Welcome to FR, I think you revealed more of yourself in that post than you wanted to.
Baltic access isn't great but not that bad, and they completed and opened the Vistula Spit Canal last year, improving access significantly to the ports and rivers in the Vistula Lagoon. It seems Poland is taking steps to ensure they are not a "stepping stone" for anyone in the near future.
“So they are inviting Russia to build-up a presence on it’s border.”
Russia already has a sizeable military force on Poland’s border. That force is in Kaliningrad.
