Russia stole an entire year from Ukraine.
All Ukraine had to do was let the people of Donbass have elections. That, and stop the artillery bombardments of Donestk and Luhansk in the past eight years.

Ukraine has come a long way since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion on Feb. 24, 2022The author discredits himself with that line. Russia's invasion was anything but "full scale".
Full scale is what Russia is now gearing up for.

The large numbers of anti-tank weapons from NATO, sent early on, perhaps should be included as a key factor.
