If you believe tweets from Michael Bloomberg’s The Trace and its employees, I am “one major factor” why the U.S. hasn’t passed stronger gun control laws and thus, they claim, responsible for mass shootings in the United States. These are becoming regular tweets after each mass public shooting.
They are upset that I have quoted mass murderers on their decisions to target gun-free zones. Yet, statements such as, “Areas where CCW are outlawed or prohibited may be good areas of attack” are common among mass murderers.
That doesn’t make sense to gun control supporters. Immediately after this week’s shooting at Michigan State University, President Biden led a chorus of politicians and gun control groups in calling for more gun control laws.
Biden used his speech on Tuesday to call for banning “assault weapons and magazines that hold 50, 70 bullets.” Shannon Watts, who heads Bloomberg’s Moms Demand Action, called for a broad range of laws: background checks for long guns, red flag laws, disarming domestic abusers, banning assault weapons, limiting magazine capacity, and regulating open carry of guns.
None of these proposed laws would have stopped this attack. The murderer, Anthony McRae, used handguns with multiple standard size magazines, not assault weapons with large-capacity magazines – not remotely close to the 50- to 70-round magazines that Biden was describing. More broadly, 58% of mass public shootings are committed only with handguns. Just 14% are committed solely with any type of rifle. . . .

In a just world Carol Siemon would be in prison or worse.
I suspect that he lied on his form 4473 and that he also didn't turn in his handgun paperwork to the county sheriff.
Furthermore, why didn't the father take decisive action when he became aware that the son may have had these weapons?
I myself have taken direct action in similar circumstances.
It was my duty. Why wasn't it the father's duty?

If they want to cut down the rate of violence, they need to fess up and stop fueling the drug problems with tolerance. Drug abuse is the cause of most of the present day mental problems and fuel for criminal opportunity violence.
”Gun free zones” are death traps. The only response to a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

Stories about the MSU shooting quickly disappeared from the news cycle because the shooter did not advance the narrative. The lenient treatment he got from the DA because of his race had to be hushed up. The shooting is indictment of the progressive goal to stop the mass incarceration of blacks

If you flinched twice when you read the previous sentence, you are the reason there is so much gun violence in this country.
I’d like to see some way of holding these woke DA’s criminally liable if one of their “equity” plea deals goes south, such as in this case.
Appears that all these mass shootings recently are done by weak individuals in soft targets (gun-free zones).
At least one of the victims was black.

I remember the 1960s when the ultimate evil firearms were the foreign made “Saturday Night Special” in .22 and .25 cal, and the 5 shot bolt action army surplus rifle!
Ban these and all would be right with the world! So they did in 1968.
Then they went after other handguns, but “rifles will not be affected!” they said till 1984 when they made a grab for the rifles, and missed.
We then knew that all firearms were up for grabs.

Proof we need to reopen the mental hospitals closed in the 1970s. When they were closed and the crazies dumped on the streets mass killings began to take off.
Most of the shooters had telegraphed their intentions long before they went on their killing spree, but no one took the time to intercede.
After the mass killings we find “He was on the FBI radar!” but they did nothing.
