Die-hard climate skeptics are "never going to be convinced" by the need for policies to combat climate change as they are in "direct opposition" to their ideology, climate experts have said.
Some Republicans frequently push back at what they see as the "climate agenda." Academics said that many of these claims—as well as some opposing views from liberals—feed into existing narratives that serve to shape the conversation towards their viewpoint. According to the Center for American Progress, no Democrats in the 117th Congress have explicitly expressed climate denial views.
Tim Forsyth, professor in environment and politics at the London School of Economics, told Newsweek that on all sides of the argument, environmental issues were being "twisted" to address "older, tribal debates" that engage people by playing on established worries.
"If you're trying to whip up public opinion about this sort of stuff, you'll find that most people will only really attach to these debates when it is presented in terms that already speak to well-known political narratives and divisions," he said.
"Why do climate deniers use certain sentences or use certain statements? My short answer to that is because for them, the battle is about persuading different camps to come to their side."
At one extreme, this means that those who believe ardently in a free market and individualism above all else will always reject climate policy based around state intervention, one expert said.
"Climate change and global environmental issues are directly opposed to extreme neoliberalism," Mark Maslin, professor of earth system sciences told Newsweek.
"Neoliberalism says the individual is important, markets know best, there shouldn't be any regulation," he said. "But, if you have a global issue with pollution or CO2 in the atmosphere, you have to regulate. You have to regulate to make sure it's fair for everybody.

Because there is lots of money and power in green Communism.
I believe in God and Science, why should I give in to the false science of the communists. The issue is never the issue for the communists and this is no exception. The communists could care less one way or the other about the climate. The issue is to end personal freedom and using false climate science is a lever that they are using.
Mass brain washing doesn’t work on some. That’s why eventually they will have to put down the trouble makers.
Perhaps if the climate enthusiasts could produce some compelling evidence based on unadulterated real-world measurements and not based on climate models, we could start to have a debate.
Instead, they proclaim they are right and that government transition to command economies is the ONLY solution to the problem they can’t prove exists.
Because they’re right?
If you believe that humans cause climate change, it would help selling your cause to walk the walk instead of just talking the talk. I’m talking about individuals, I’m talking about activist groups, I’m talking about political parties, I’m talking about legislators.
Never got past that.
If the alarmists truly believed that CC were a existential threat, they’d take the biggest polluting nation on earth (China, by far) to task. The fact that they don’t says it all.

Who are these “die hard” skeptics? Are they strawmen?
As for me, I’d like the advocates to stick their necks out and present a single, falsifiable theory, and if it’s falsified, to admit they were wrong, and move on. But they have done neither, because they are only pretending to practice science.
Because they believe what they see. And, here is what they do see.
The planet is GREENING. A LOT! Probably because carbon dioxide is up. And, this is allowing more plants to grow and more people to eat.
Yes. In a century the planet may get hotter. But, that does not mean there will be dire consequences. The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said they can see NO SCENARIO where that warming leads to an existential crises.
Because it would mean that they would have to reevaluate everything that they have ever believed in, who wants to do that.

They want to make people suffer
When Newsweek and politicians and government people talk about the agenda and climate deniers, they’re not speaking about the science or the truth regarding the climate.
This clause the article demonstrates what it’s about:
“no Democrats in the 117th Congress have explicitly expressed climate denial views”.
IOW, the democrats are about a climate change agenda, and not about the science. When is the last time that a politician or a reporter mentioned or talked about or quoted any kind of science that supported their position on ‘climate change’?
It’s strictly about the agenda for control of the economy and the people. That’s not science; that’s not a real concern for climate that’s changing for the worse.
Because it’s about money and communism, not “the climate.”
Climate alarmists will not admit that climate change is a natural process that has been going on for billions of years and no matter what humans do it will continue on until the end of the earth. Climate Alarmists also will not ever tell you what global temperature they are shooting for, and how they come up with that number.
Until climate alarmists acknowledged this we can’t even begin to debate.
