Youtube ^ | February 5, 2023 | Perun

Aid to Ukraine has evolved dramatically since February 2022, and there are few topics that have attracted more constant press coverage away from the battlefield itself. So today I [Perun] try and set out how aid has evolved, who the major contributors are, and the impact aid has had - and may have in 2023.

Perun is an Australian Australian covering the military industrial complex and national military investment strategy. Since Russia invaded Ukraine, he has concentrated on that conflict. He produces in-depth videos, long on original source research, and short on rhetoric.

I recommend him for those who wish to learn facts about the war.

Those who label as "propaganda" everything that varies from the narrative they support, stay away. Even if you like his research and conclusions in one video, you are apt to reject the next one.

Why is America helping the Ukraine at all?

The Ukraine is not our ally. It’s not even a friend.

What effect would one hundred F-16s, well armed, piloted by experienced Western volunteer pilots, and supported by a robust maintenance deployment and pilot rescue and extraction force have on the Ukraine war effort? Asking because I think it is coming in some form or another and sooner than you might think. Russians and chinese piloted migs against us in Korea and vietnam. F*ck them if they they think we won’t do it back in their faces now.

I’m describing the equivalent of a Western enforced no-fly zone over Ukraine, denying Russia air superiority or any air influence while Ukes use drones on their forces. I think Russia threats of nukes are a bluff that begs to be called and well worth it. If they do try to use them then it was time to belly up.to the bar and crush them. I suspect their nukes are as weak as the rest of their well-maintained forces. My 2 cents.

Re #3. Ukraine is a money pipeline to the Biden’s and the DNC. This is the only reason the US is supporting them.

Why?

The borders in Europe moved back and forth for a thousand years without any help from the USA.

There’s no reason to spend a single dollar supporting or opposing the shtthole countries in Eastern Europe.

WTH are you talking about? Ukraine is winning handily. The idea that the West is running out of weapons is simply Russian disinformation.

Actually I think you were correct the first time given that there are millions who are fraudulently called “Americans”, “British”, “Canadians”, “Germans”, Swedes”,”French” , etc.,etc,... and are anything but. Ilan Omar comes to mind.

I have already talked to one young lady who is in the 82nd after she got back from her first deployment in Poland.

They aint happy about all this and think they will get sent into country.

Seems to be of the opinion that the Poles are about to use them as potential fodder.

Principal effect would be to shut down the Russian cruise missile strategic bombardment campaign. That would eliminate one Russian point of pressure, and probably permit Uke electric infrastructure to recover, and maybe bring some Uke industry back online.

This should also end the danger of Ukraine running out of SAM’s.

It wouldn’t have much effect on the remainder of the RuAF as they already can’t operate in Uke airspace due to the Uke SAM umbrella.

I don’t see the F-16 force as being a game changer offensively, as they would then have to face the Russian SAM umbrella. A force as you describe would not have the SEAD capabilities to operate in Russian airspace. Maybe if they are equipped with standoff weapons, but there are less risky ways to deliver these.

Regarding that last, my question would how do the Israelis pull off what seems to be near immunity vs. the Russian systems?

Still, in most cases I would agree that there are less risky and less expensive methods to hit targets in Russian controlled airspace in Ukraine. 6 ATACMS pods on HIMARS launchers, plus a healthy supply of GLSDB’s, and Crimea becomes very tough for Russia to hold on to.

The Israelis have well developed SEAD tech and procedures also.

It’s not just a matter of having the airframes.

Also the Israelis aren’t facing the comprehensive air defense systems the Ukrainians would be.
