Three sections of a special grand jury's report into possible criminal election interference by former President Donald Trump and others will be published Thursday, including concerns about witnesses lying under oath, a Georgia judge ruled Monday.

Judge McBurney, who considered arguments about the report's publication in late January, agreed to an extent with a coalition of media companies, which claimed the profound public interest in the report justified its release.

"While publication may not be convenient for the pacing of the district attorney's investigation, the compelling public interest in these proceedings and the unquestionable value and importance of transparency require [certain parts'] release," Judge McBurney said. "These three portions include the introduction and conclusion to the final report, as well as section VIII, in which the special purpose grand jury discusses its concern that some witnesses may have lied under oath during their testimony to the grand jury."

The report does not identify which witnesses may have lied, Judge McBurney said.

The 26 grand jurors impaneled in May to weigh the evidence heard testimony in Atlanta from 75 witnesses over the course of about seven months...

I could not post the entire article. The judge explained that he would not publish the entire report because the prosecutor had not finished the investigation yet.

Afraid the truth will hamper their hate campaign.

Grand jury? Isn’t that one of those thingies where the defendant doesn’t get to defend?

Willis told the judge that the releasing the report in its entirety may violate the rights of anyone who may be indicted (defendants would not get a fair trial).

Of course, if anyone IS indicted based on the report, prosecution will have to, by law, share the full report with defendants and their attorneys.

Grand juries are never formed to write reports, they’re formed to indict criminals. If a witness lies, they indict the witness, too. This story simply tells us that they simply have no evidence to indict either the target or the witnesses.
