He never reported it. At that time the consequences to a pilot of reporting what could not be explained …were “problematic”
During WWII, they called them foo fighters.
Problematic because command didn’t want information reported, or because the pilot would be considered crazy, or considered inept in his knowledge of physics and removed from flight?
