I highly doubt that it's anything more than the usual "Kabuki Theater" offering from the D.C. swamp to make people believe we have superiority over "invaders."

In the early days, when imagery was all on film, we used to snag surveillance satellites as they returned to earth by parachute with a big looped cable towed behind planes. Could an AF guy here comment on the feasibility of snagging one of these?
