Party leaders are unquestionably complicit in the premature deaths of their own supporters.
No country has a perfect COVID-vaccination rate, even this far into the pandemic, but America’s record is particularly dismal. About a third of Americans—more than a hundred million people—have yet to get their initial shots. You can find anti-vaxxers in every corner of the country. But by far the single group of adults most likely to be unvaccinated is Republicans: 37 percent of Republicans are still unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated, compared with 9 percent of Democrats. Fourteen of the 15 states with the lowest vaccination rates voted for Donald Trump in 2020. (The other is Georgia.)
We know that unvaccinated Americans are more likely to be Republican, that Republicans in positions of power led the movement against COVID vaccination, and that hundreds of thousands of unvaccinated Americans have died preventable deaths from the disease. The Republican Party is unquestionably complicit in the premature deaths of many of its own supporters, a phenomenon that may be without precedent in the history of both American democracy and virology.

No, they are coming in because U.S. citizens refuse to have enough children.
They all should face the consequences for their actions.
From Mr Operation Warp Speed:
"The vaccine is one of the greatest achievements of mankind," Trump told conservative commentator Candace Owens in an interview on Wednesday.
"I came up with a vaccine, with three vaccines all are very, very good," he said in the interview, referring to the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson shots. Donald “Operation Warp Speed” Trump
It gives him the opportunity to blame Trump. See what he opened with? LOL
How many Republicans are "against" the polio vaccine?
Most Republicans don’t care about The Atlantic
The GOP is against vaccines? Say what?
Trump is currently the leader of the party, and he’s called the vaccines “one of the greatest achievements in the history of mankind.” He even calls other politicians who won’t get the boosters, as Trump claims he did, as “gutless.”
Kevin McCarthy, Speaker of the House, has worked to stop vaccine mandates for the military, because it’s obviously hurting recruiting, but has otherwise never said a single negative thing about them.
Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader, is a vaccine pimp almost to the equivalent of Trump, but of course no one can match that.
This writer must be confused between the Republican Party leaders, and the grassroots conservatives, who DO actually oppose the vaccines in many instances.
What remains to be seen, if a lot of those in the grassroots, will continue their opposition to them, or capitulate to Trump and his position on them, because you can’t really do both.
Hmm. I've gotten four of them. I think I've proved that vaccinated people can still post on FR after death.
This Atlantic lady writer needs to check out what Eric Clapton has to say about the magic vaccines.
In executing this role, I believe it is vital for FReepers to post a wide range of content...red meat, The Atlantic, NeverTrumper claptrap, and so on.
THE reason Malcolm Butler made the greatest interception in Super Bowl history, was that the Patriots had seen that play in the Seahawks tapes, and they drilled on it.
Same thing here.
Friggen Republicans murdered me!
Thanks!
I dunno. She should do the research and find out. I am guessing that that information can’t be known. Who knows who is going to die and when?
Well, also because Pete Carroll is a huge idiot. You go with what got you there. Give it to the man from Oakland.
Not by wasting our time republishing them. Does the leftist MSM republish right-wing articles? No, and maybe that’s why they seem to have been winning.
Science is ever evolving, full of unproven theories .. like evolution...
I would say your 'hubris' is showing, because you were 'anti-Trump' from the get - go...
The real question is how many people did the forced vaccine kill or seriously injure
It is one fifth, not one third, in everything I have seen.
The foundation of the Atlantic article is flawed. Overwhelmingly and statistically covid targeted the elderly and those with co-morbidities, especially obesity.
Covid does not know if you are R or D. It does not care if you’re skin is darker or lighter. Diabetes and obese has a much higher rate than Diabetes and not obese. Heart, lung, liver disease and obestity yes. Same and not obese, not so much.
Covid went thru waves of mutation, each mutation weaker than the one before it...but sometimes more contagious.
The origins may be political. Human reaction to it may be political. But the virus itself is non-political.
Good point!
Always pays to know what the enemy is thinking.
