> So Canada can’t (won’t) shoot down over their own territory? What gives? <

If I had to bet, I’d bet Getready (post #23) is right. Biden needs any easy national security win after the Chinese balloon fiasco.

So the US sends up some kind of aircraft, and pretends it’s from some evil foreign nation. Biden calls Trudeau and says hey, let us shoot it down. I’ll owe you one.

Case closed.

It’s shot down. Down being the operative word.

Now go look at it and report what it is and where it’s from.

>> The fact that they had to go back to the records to figure out there were three incursions during the Trump Administration is lunacy.

Lunacy? Try BALD FACED LIE.

The American people are being played for fools by their own military command. Dollars to dingleberries it’s that woke turd Mark “Rainbow” Milley behind it. That evil SOB admits that he lied to Trump and took it upon himself to parley-vous with hostile foreign governments.

In the News/Activism forum, on a thread titled U.S. fighter jet shoots down UFO over Canada, Trudeau says, frog in a pot wrote:
Unfortunately, the Chinese have a solid grip on Canada so having Canadian forces collect the wreckage ensures we never get to know what it was.

In real term China most likely has a solid grip on our WH and most of our Congress. Why isn't Canada throwing a hissy fit about US conducting military shoot-downs over their country?

On the bright side we almost certainly already know everything of value about the "balloons"

Canada needs to see China get bitch-slapped in a way that has enormous internal Chinese political consequences, and we need to be prepared to step in and help its new government sort things out.

I believe Canada is given over to China militarily, whereas I believe America is only given over partially in terms of our military. There are still aspects of our military China fears.

Years ago, Canada gave the NORAD station nearest the border with New York to the Chinese for 'training' and they have been cycling in their pilots there - as though they expected something  beneficial to happen in 2016, but she wasn't elected and Trump was.

Joe Biden, his son, Schumer and son, Pelosi and son, Romney etc. along with the DNC are, I believe, property of China.

Biden has never had complete control of the military. When he took office, his staff complained in a Politico or Hill article, key military leaders from the Trump era declined to answer specific questions and referred to their lawyer, who was present. I don't know how it's divided between patriots and sellouts, but it is 'somehow'.

I think public figures like Milley are the sellouts and most all of those actually serving are patriots who can't very well control the upper ranks who sold out. I know we have a fierce, loyal core of military otherwise we would have had China 'helping' with mandatory 'vaccines' in the capacity of UN troops. China still fears our military. Brandon tries to make it look like our military serves him, but it's window dressing.

So with the shoot down of the balloon over the Atlantic, it seems like China could have authorized Brandon to shoot it down once it collected the information it wanted. Note that Brandon started saying the Chinese would likely recover it before our military could (!?) so maybe that was something China wanted. But I believe the US military recovered it anyway.

Maybe Brandon held back the military until China gave the green light, and expected to let the Chinese pick it up, but patriot military picked it up anyway.

And the Chinese had the gall to claim they had a right to 'respond' to the shootdown of their 'civilian' weather balloon! Maybe that was part of the 'purpose' that we'll see more of  later.

I find it suspicious that China hasn't raved about the shootdown over Canada. Wut's goin' on up there?

RE: Biden and Trudeau....

How did we get so lucky as to have two, not just one, macho hero to protect us?

Can we ask for a refund?

Thank you but another dumb question; hate to show my ignorance - but can’t missiles take them out without sending aircraft...nothing from Vandenberg AFB or MT? I know our aircraft have specific capabilities and missions but what are our missiles for?

I have a lot of dumb questions tonight - we were told that the F22 that shot down the balloon over the ocean off SC came from Langley, VA but I haven’t heard where the plane or planes came from that shot down whatever over Canada....

Thanks.

Just some thoughts ...

What missiles do you have in mind?

US Navy has several versions of the Raytheon “Standard” missile. I suspect those would do the job very nicely ... over open water. They’re launched from our destroyers and cruisers. None of them are available in the Arctic Ocean in winter. Or even in summer.

The Patriot air defense system has a max altitude around 80,000 ft ... but it’s a short range system designed for point defense. I doubt we have any operational in northern Alaska ...

THAAD reaches up to 90(?) miles and is a more regional air defense system, but I don’t think we have any deployed operationally within the United States.

The Ground Based Interceptor system in Fort Greely is specifically designed to counter ICBMs.

And that’s why we have fighters and their RADAR and IR guided missiles. They’re just much more flexible and adaptable than ground missile systems.

Probably U.S. based planes in Alaska were a lot closer to the Yukon than Canadian based planes which I would assume were in Cold Lake Alberta (near the AB-SK border). Also there are the different operational abilities of the planes as explained earlier by another poster.

I don’t buy the idea that the Canadian military is under some sort of Chinese control. I do think Justin Trudeau has in the past been overly sympathetic to China, this is well known. But unless you also think your own military is under the control of China, I don’t think one could be and the other not, without it being known in U.S. military circles even during the Trump administration.

More likely our co-operation with China on military training issues was in part a reverse espionage opportunity, as in, let them come in, we’ll see what they want to spy on, and we’ll spy on how they spy.

In any case the location of most of the military resources of both countries are well known and not easy to hide. Canada has remarkably few military resources to spy on, but the ones we do have tend to be out in the open, in the north where there aren’t many trees. Any nation with satellites no doubt knows all about our military potential.

Also I doubt that there would ever be a direct military confrontation between North America and China over the issue of sovereignty here, something to do with Chinese power in east Asia perhaps, but they would be trying to project inferior power into a space far from their main support, it makes no sense to expect any result other than annihilation of the Chinese air force. Even if Canada sat it out that would be the result but the NORAD treaty requires us to participate even in the unlikely scenario of a Chinese attack on the lower 48 and not Canada.

Reconnaissance. Like when they fly a red fighter jets into Taiwan air space. At first sign of intrusion, all the defense systems light up. This tells the intruder what to expect and gives them the intel needed to hack defense systems and/or devise blocking weapons in the event of an invasion. Now, in only a couple weeks, due to Biden’s criminal negligence and malfeasance in the Pentagon, Red China has effortlessly learned everything they need to know about our air defenses and how to defeat them. We sleep walked right into a box canyon.
