“Our main market is the United States,” said Chan, CEO of Man Wah’s Mexico subsidiary. “We don’t want to lose that market.”
That same objective explains why scores of major Chinese companies are investing aggressively in Mexico, taking advantage of an expansive North American trade deal. Tracing a path forged by Japanese and South Korean companies, Chinese firms are establishing factories that allow them to label their goods “Made in Mexico,” then trucking their products into the United States duty-free.
The interest of Chinese manufacturers in Mexico is part of a broader trend known as near-shoring. International companies are moving production closer to customers to limit their vulnerability to shipping problems and geopolitical tensions.

Mexico will soon be a rich country once they finally purge themselves of poor people

Because Mexico allows their craphole to be a jumping off point for Red Chinese invaders overrunning our southern border.
so they can be our neighbor?
Way easier to import into America. Every time the Western ports kerfuffle it costs companies on both sides money. No ports, less problems.
China invests in Mexico for the same reason the US “invests” Ukraine, to box in an enemy.

The Congress-led Ponzi scheme is fast running out of rail...
The main reason of all this Chinese investment in Mexico is to shore up their alliance with the Mexican drug and human trafficking cartels, the de facto government of much of Mexico.
And of course, with the current US-Canadian-Mexican trade agreement in place, this is far more lucrative than shipping goods through US West Coast port, where there is a bottleneck, in that the goods cannot be trucked out, due to harsh restrictions put on by the California, Oregon and Washington State legislatures.
Southern command logistics.
Chicom Economic Warefare - bump for later...
I’m more concerned with where they’re getting the money to invest in anything. Those free trade deals were advertised to help the consumers save money, but that $.10 we save on communist made paint brushes doesn’t make up for the trillions we lost in money that could have built up our infrastructure and investments, but built China’s instead.
Will make it far easier to import other things originally from China into the USA: like even more fentanyl and meth.
Are you crazy? Mexico has always been a rich nation. Last time I checked they were about the 14th richest nation in the world.
Exactly!!
That’s exactly what we were doing with Air Bags from Japan, ship to Mexico and repackage to the good ole USSA.
So now we know why Peter Zeihan is talking up Mexico!
