You have convinced yourself that there were two statements, that the police interviewed the fiancee and her statements were included in the report.
But the article does not say this anywhere.
It only says the report cited the statements of the homeowner.
You assumed this to be the case, you think you KNOW absolutely that this happened and is true, but you don’t know this at all.
Very possible she was not interviewed, or chose not to say anything. Or was too shaken to speak.

The two articles also often describe the actions without attribution or fault, but from information supplied by the shooter. I would say that if the shooter made any misstatements or the evidence didn’t support the shooter’s statements, the law enforcement spokespeople would be more careful.
There is certainly a lot of missing information, and there may be a lot of missing backstory. But I would say the Ammoland article was no better or worse than the articles it was taken from.
