Green Lasers Spotted Over Hawaii “Most Likely” From Chinese Satellite
Gateway Pundit ^ | February 10, 2023 | Joe Hoft

Late last month, mysterious green laser beams were spotted from Hawaii’s tallest peak. Experts initially said the burst of laser beams was emitted by a NASA spacecraft thought that was proven incorrect this week — with evidence pointing to a Chinese satellite.

Space experts at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) initially tweeted on Jan. 30 that the Subaru-Asahi Star Camera “captured green laser lights in the cloudy sky over Maunakea, Hawai’i. The lights are thought to be from a remote-sensing altimeter satellite ICESAT-2/43613.”

But on Feb. 6, one week later, NAOJ issued a correction on YouTube that specified the laser beams weren’t from a US spacecraft but the “most likely candidate” was a “Chinese Daqi-1/AEMS satellite.”

“According to Dr. Martino, Anthony J., a NASA scientist working on ICESat-2 ATLAS, it is not by their instrument but by others,” a correction note on the YouTube video explains.

“His colleagues, Dr. Alvaro Ivanoff et al., did a simulation of the trajectory of satellites that have a similar instrument and found a most likely candidate as the ACDL instrument by the Chinese Daqi-1/AEMS satellite.

Probably just monitoring atmospheric greenhouse gas levels, trying to save the planet from climate change, you know.

Something doesn’t make sense. Lasers just don’t suddenly change wavelengths from invisible to visible spectrum and there are reasons why visible spectrum laser beams aren’t seen all over the world. This seems like a hoax or prank.

Several years ago—about 10 or so—while living in north Texas I was outside on my driveway one night and saw dozens of red dots scanning my entire yard and surrounding area. Never said much about it but suspected is was a satellite of some sort doing geo scans.

Did you miss the “cloudy” mention?

““captured green laser lights in the cloudy sky “

Green lasers have been mentioned long ago as a tool to detect or communicate with submerged submarines.

And here for the last couple of days.

A single laser beam from a satellite would diverge to cover a large area by the time it got to your yard and would not appear as a “dot”. But, interesting report. More likely from a police helicopter?

Who said they changed wavelengths?

It was an odd few moments. Red dot zooming around the yard and up and down fixed objects. I assumed at the time it was a geo scanner simply charting the geography of the area.

The green light goes deeper into ocean water. The green doesn’t detract in the blue water.

There is a video version of this kicking around. It is more of a scan from left to right, at angles that make it appear to be triggered from a gimbal.

“Not sure”

“ That’s classified”

Water is not blue, it is clear. The blue is from the sky color, the water scatters blue and attenuates higher and lower light frequencies.

The absorbtion of light is not constant in water as a function of frequency. There is a minimum in the blue-green part of the spectrum. Useful if you want to light up or communicate with something submerged.

If that laser light was modulated would be a rather interesting find.

Subs don’t have windows. The color of a laser would be meaningless.

And yes, green lasers penetrate sea water better than any other type.

Why do you keep wanting to argue?
Submarine windows, how about arguing about the drape colors they use?
Rather unclear about the subject, so go find someone else.

You responded to me. Saying the color of the laser made communication with a sub easier. But you don’t state how.

Your panties are in a bunch, not mine.

Lots of strange shit in the sky lately.

I have no desire to educate you on technical subjects.

Just to give you something to chew on, you do know that fiber optic communications use laser light?

There is nobody on the other end staring at the light, so dwell on what happens to it at the other end.
