Principles? The Chinese are lecturing us about principles?
lol.
Wonder if the German government would have a spokesperson named Hitler, or the Russian government a spokesperson named Stalin.
This is not a normal country.
And biden is not a normal president.
“Generalizing the concept of national security and politicizing economic, trade and investment issues violate the rules of market economy and international trade rules,” spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular press briefing. …Meanwhile, Red China is by definition a non-market economy and is permitted to participate in and abuse market economies and cite so-called “international trade rules” while being the definition of violating them.
Given past performance, neither would appear to have problems 'selling out'.
I also wonder if the world would blink if Germany had a spokesman named Heidler (“Hitler” is apparently a corruption of that name, coined by Adolf’s father Alois) or Russia had a spokesman named Djughashvili (Stalin’s real name).
Our economy is screwed up with too much government ... but literal communists lecturing us on market economy is madness.
What’s that old line? The Constitution is not a suicide pact.
Neither is a free market.
RULE (for radicals) 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”
If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules. (This is a serious rule. The besieged entity’s very credibility and reputation is at stake, because if activists catch it lying or not living up to its commitments, they can continue to chip away at the damage.)
Property Rights trump National Security?
...good point about Stalin...he was from Georgia and thus was not a native Russian, if I recall, and interestingly and sadly, I believe he studied for the priesthood at one point in his life...may his soul rot in Hell....
Piss off Commies.
If I were King for a day, I’d confiscate ALL Chinese owned property, expel ALL Chinese people who are not American citizens, and shut down trade with China!
So you have 100 acres to sell at $10,000 per acre (cheap compared to around here). The fair market value for the full parcel is $1,000,000 USD. The Feds say you cannot sell to a Chinese interest even though they are offering you $100,000,000. That is generational wealth. Your family will be set up for several generations. At some point you will find a way to sell, the law not withstanding. It’s human nature.
OK, we will allow Chinese individuals to purchase property but they must publically renounce all forms of communism and especially the CCP version.
Welcome New Capitalists!
“ Written for the chambers of commerce and Mitt Romney’s to invoke ‘free markets’.
Given past performance, neither would appear to have problems ‘selling out’. ”
So true. This statement had a specific audience, including the chinese nationals in the US.
