I am surprised at how many of those my age, baby boomers, are so readily willing to accept this.”
At this point the young people are going to have to deal with it—old folks have thrown in the towel.
I don’t have real ID—if that means I can’t fly so be it—nowhere I really need to be.

A huge part of WEF Agenda.
only if it has six points nad it probably would be red rather than gold to indicate red state person
I’ve been attending farmer’s markets in my area for decades. There are three large ones close by that happen every weekend.
For years and years, most all of the displays were fresh fruits or vegetables. Farmers would drive from great distances to sell their stuff, and chat. There would be a few others mixed in that sold preserves, and a few others that sold leather goods, or carved wood items, or occasionally some unique tools.
Now, at any of them I go to, it’s like a freaking circus. One tent will have a small selection of veggies, at best. The rest are all selling some sort of bottled junk, or drops, or t-shirts. Lots of junk food being cooked, like fried junk on a srick, or even pizza.
I don’t know how much longer I’m going to keep going. And I’m worried about where we can secure food other than mass markets, or packaged junk.
In my statement about the willingness of old people to accept this, I’m also indicating that most of them don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. Yeah thrown in the towel. I have. But I sure as hell think it’s disgusting and Evil. Not so my leftist brother-in-law and his communist Jewish wife. They seem to think it’s all hunky-dory and they’re both in their 70s
It’s time to make DHS go away. Yeah, I know, hell will freeze over first.
The “never forget” crowd forgot.
Folks had the same hysteria in the 90’s when they started chipping dogs. Then again during Zero’s term, now here we are again. Still not chipped.
It seems intended to be a protective act in some ways; but the lefties can certainly find a way to twist it to their tyrannical needs:
H.R. 1668 (116th): IoT Cybersecurity Improvement Act of 2020
The summary below was written by the Congressional Research Service, which is a nonpartisan division of the Library of Congress, and was published on Dec 5, 2020.________________________________________________
Internet of Things Cybersecurity Improvement Act of 2020
or the
IoT Cybersecurity Improvement Act of 2020This bill requires the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to take specified steps to increase cybersecurity for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. IoT is the extension of internet connectivity into physical devices and everyday objects.
Specifically, the bill requires NIST to develop and publish standards and guidelines for the federal government on the appropriate use and management by agencies of IoT devices owned or controlled by an agency and connected to information systems owned or controlled by an agency, including minimum information security requirements for managing cybersecurity risks associated with such devices.
The bill requires the OMB to review agency information security policies and principles on the basis of the NIST standards and guidelines and issue such policies and principles as necessary to ensure the agency policies and principles are consistent with the NIST standards and guidelines.
NIST shall review and revise, as appropriate, the standards and guidelines every five years. The OMB shall update any policy or principle to be consistent with NIST revisions.
NIST shall develop and publish guidelines for agency, contractor, and subcontractor communications regarding security vulnerabilities.
The OMB shall develop and oversee the implementation of policies, principles, standards, or guidelines as necessary to address security vulnerabilities of information systems.
An agency is prohibited from procuring, obtaining, or using an IoT device if the agency determines during a review of a contract that the use of such device prevents compliance with the standards and guidelines, subject to a waiver where necessary for national security, for research purposes, or where such device is secured using alternative effective methods.
The Government Accountability Office shall report to Congress on broader IoT efforts.
Very much describes a new one that was started in out town 2 yrs ago. Possibly there were draconian covid restrictions on produce or handling of produce put in place from 2020 thru part of last year. There has also been the fertilizer scandal and the gas prices affecting tractors or other equipment. Hope this year is better, if they haven't killed off any profitabilty of the small farms.

Thanks for the insights. For now, I usually just stock up from the lone vendor selling veggies, then walk around briefly staring un-approvingly at the others, especially the pizza guys, before promptly leaving.
I have an official Kali gold star ID. I can’t find a chip in it but it does have a magnetic strip on the back. The mag strip is easily demagnetized. I know it isn’t working because the few times I have bought a firearm the sales guys get mad swiping the DL over and over. Then they have to type in whatever it is they need off it.
Well, ours has a pulled-pork guy, so I give him a pass. He's a patriot, too.
I don’t see any “hysteria.” I guess you’re perfectly OK with tyranny.
Everything EXCEPT for in person voting.
Controversy over Real ID is a shiny diversion. Where digital tracking is possible and actually has been done for years is by our financial and medical transactions via category codes. These have been tracked for years by our banks, insurance companies and such. In the anonymous aggregate, it has been shared to the government for years. This anonymous aggregate of data is the raw data that actuaries and economists work with.
The big problem for me is sharing an individual’s specific details of these to any government entity absent a search warrant based on probable cause. This is something that I do not consent to.
