"DeSantis edges closer to 2024 decision"

With all due respect to Gov. DeSantis, please consider the following.

From related threads...

DeSantis previous remark about his proven (imo) leadership style is actually a major clue that he is clueless that he cannot take the vast, 10th Amendment (10A)-protected state powers that he has used to make Florida thrive to Oval Office, and use those same powers make the nation thrive.

In fact, contrast the as yet unrealized constitutionally limited powers of the unconstitutionally big federal government with Justice Joseph Story's clarification of 10th Amendment state powers.

"They form a portion of that immense mass of legislation, which embrace every thing in the territory of a state not surrendered to the general government. Inspection laws, quarantine laws, and health laws, as well as laws for regulating the internal commerce of a state, and others, which respect roads, fences, &c. are component parts of state legislation, resulting from the residuary powers of state sovereignty. No direct power over these is given to congress, and consequently they remain subject to state legislation [emphases added], though they may be controlled by congress, when they interfere with their acknowledged powers." —Justice Joseph Story, Article I, Section 10, Clause 2, 1833.

The idea of using state powers in Oval Office to run the country is pure Hollywood. In other words, Democratic and RINO presidents have been helping an always overzealous Congress to steal and use state powers from the time of the time of misguided President Washington, unthinkingly nullifying the Founder's vision of the federal government's constitutionally limited powers by doing so imo.

In other words, forget the corrupt media lie that the Oval Office is the most powerful peacetime office in the land. If DeSantis wants to serve the most people that he can under the Constitution, likewise for other governors thinking about running for president, then they need to remain governors imo.

In fact, the congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, a constitutional lawmaker, had indicated that the drafters of the Constitution had trusted the states, not the frigging federal government, with the care of the people.

”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)

Also consider that Justice Louis Brandeis had introduced his "laboratories of democracy" metaphor to emphasize the 10A-protected power of the states to serve the people."

"[...] a single courageous State may, if its citizens choose, serve as a laboratory; and try novel social and economic experiments without risk to the rest of the country." —Justice Louis Brandeis, Laboratories of Democracy.

The problem is that the states cannot independently do social and economic experiments because the corrupt feds keep stealing state revenues in the form of unconstitutional taxes, taxes that Congress cannot reasonably justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers and a few other constitutionally enumerated expenses.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

What's going on is that ordinary citizen voters have been given more voting power than the drafters of the Constitution had intended for them to have. The consequence is that generations of misguided voters have been electing federal and state lawmakers and executives who evidently do not know (blatantly ignore?) the federal government's constitutionally limited powers any better than the voters who elected them do.

In other words, state lawmakers are now regularly begging Congress for so-called "federal" funding, career state lawmakers seemingly not understanding that the so-called federal funding that they then brag about winning to help get reelected is arguably state revenues that the feds have stolen from the states by means of unconstitutional federal taxes, again, taxes that Congress cannot reasonably justify under its Section 8-limited powers as previously mentioned.

The bottom line is that MAGA patriots must now eliminate the “middleman,” the unconstitutionally big federal government, from "helping" the state to manage their revenues.

More specifically, patriots need to wake up their RINO federal and state lawmakers by making the following clear to them.

If they don’t publicly support either a resolution, or a Constitutional Convention, to effectively "secede" ALL the states from the unconstitutionally big federal government by amending the Constitution to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments (16&17A), doing so before the primary elections in 2024, that YOU will primary them.

If the proposed amendment was limited strictly to repealing 16&17A, relatively little or ideally no discussion would be needed before ratification of the amendment imo.

With 16&17A out of the way, my hope is that Trump 47 becomes the FIRST president of a truly self-disciplined, constitutionally limited power federal government.

In the meanwhile, I'm not holding my breath for significant MAGA legislation to appear in the first 100 days of new term for what may still prove to be another RINO-controlled House.

Trump will hopefully do another round of primarying RINOs for 2024 elections.

Aside from being the anointed one of the Globalists, his character bothers me a lot. Trump did help him with the Gov race and then RDS turned on him. Fair weather friend and total opportunist. Doesn’t score points with me.

Well, Ron thought you did. That’s why he asked DJT for help.

It looks like he has been preparing for this for decades. The JAG route, legislature, Governor, President. It is hard not to see his calculated ambition. As long as he has no skeletons (h=who has none?), he should run in 2024. If I were he, I would.

Trump has all the right enemies. DeSantis has all the wrong friends.

Good comment, Alberta. If DeSantis DOES run, he’ll resign from the campaign soon after Super Tuesday when he loses his home state in the primary to Trump.

"President Trump or nothing."

This is such a stupid take. It's not "nothing."

You should have said "President Trump or four more years of Biden/Harris" because that is what you are advocating.

So for the purposes of future elections, you’re effectively a Democrat now.

No, I vote for patriots who wish to uphold and defend the Republic. I’d rather have a thousand enemies outside the gate than just one within the party.

Keep voting for traitors like Romney and keep getting shafted.
