HIV may lie dormant in a distinct viral reservoir in the central nervous system (CNS), or brain and spinal cord, which could present an additional barrier to a cure, according to a recent report in Nature Microbiology.
“Our analysis of rebound virus suggests latently infected T cells in the CNS are separate from the latent reservoir in the blood,” senior stud author Ron Swanstrom, PhD, of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine said in a press release. “Our analysis allows us to infer the presence of a distinct pool of latently infected cells in the CNS waiting to reinitiate infection once antiretroviral therapy is interrupted.”

Translation: We won’t be able to cure it, but we will be happy to sell meds to treat it for life. Pharmaceutical companies look at the cure for polio and other cured diseases as a huge lost revenue opportunities. They would rather treat for life than cure.
Did HIV escape a bio lab? We were told a lot of things. Wonder what the truth is.
The truth is many viruses have been engineered and released to the public over the years.
Not for nothing but I recall reading this 20 or more years ago.
...and tell the future infected candidates , soon to be “contagious vectors” that they are cured and to continue to enjoy their activities while they surreptitiously spread HIV.
What could go wrong?
Interesting.
It’s been my hypothesis since 2020 that SARS-CoV-2 also goes latent.
But “undetectable” HIV carriers can donate blood now.
but you still got the HIV
Exactly. But now it’s stealth HIV.
yep and can still be passed to the next person..
wonder who is dumber Big Pharma or the people with HIV
Scary, isn't it. Or course, they try to explain that the tests can still detect the presence of HIV antibodies, but want to still defer donors who are on PrEP, because there is a higher probability that they make indicated a false negative test while being recently infected. So, which is it?
