ORLANDO, Fla. – Facing blowback, the director of Florida’s high school sports governing body is backing away from using an eligibility form that requires female athletes to disclose their menstrual history in order to compete.
... a group of Democratic state lawmakers sent a letter this week to John Gerdes, the association’s president, calling the reporting requirements in the earlier proposed form “highly invasive.”

The Democrat party is suddenly concerned about coaches knowing about the health of their student athletes?
Is the problem that it is “highly invasive”? or is the issue that it causes problems for Men who wish to identify as female athletes?
Maybe a “vagina history” would do the trick.
The Female Athlete Triad Is a real issue… but mandatory data collection is overkill. Training parents and athletes is what is needed.
Will virginity checks be next?
No more “Boys” or “Girls” sports. We need “XY” and “XX” sports. No matter what you want sewn onto or chopped off your body, you compete according to genetics.
I agree. I don’t think there’s a chance in the world that high school sports administrators have the knowledge and experience to evaluate or promote the health of female athletes. Even a lot of Ob/gyns are appallingly ignorant about healthy menstrual cycles.
it’s nobodies beeswax
Maybe just ask what they are trying to get at. Are you pregnant.
XX or XY?
How hard is that?
Lots of state, like New York routinely ask this. Where is the pushback on that?
The eligibility form should ask athletes to disclose whether they are mentally insane, such as thinking they are not the sex they were born as.
none of this was well thought out... it’s a privacy violation and won’t help actual female athletes, as anyone can LIE on a form. If the govt asked me any of these things about my kids, I would balk at filling out the form.
They are trying to blame DeSantis and the overturning of Roe. However, the questionnaire has been used for at least 20 years or more. There is a medical reason for the question. Sometimes girls in sports will have it impact their cycle. Since they are in high school, this could have a lasting impact on bone density. That being said, the doctor could deal with that directly with their patient. All the school really needs to know is whether the athlete is medically cleared to participate in sports and if there are any limitations.
XX plays on XX Teams. XY plays on XY Teams. I don’t see what the problem is? We should also put XX/XY on public restrooms. The way to fix this is make this gender pronouns so ridiculous that the Democrats will be forced to change the narrative.
BINGO!
... and still in some places in America, a person asking such a question could receive a well-deserved smackdown.
i can’t imagine having to divulge that info to an adult when i was in high school. None-ya!
“ We need “XY” and “XX” sports.”
Simple, logical and
TRANSPHOBIC!!!!!!!!!! (and probably RACIST, too)
