HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- A man convicted of killing three teenagers while they slept in a Texas Panhandle home more than 25 years ago was executed on Wednesday, the sixth inmate to be put to death in the U.S. this year and the second in as many days.
Balentine appeared jovial as witnesses were entering the death chamber, asking if someone standing near the gurney could remove the sheet covering the lower two-thirds of his body “and massage my feet.” Then he chuckled.

25 years is anything but swift justice.
2023-1989 = 25. It too 25 years to off this murderous scumbag?
Sentenced to death by old age...almost.

Some wise person once said that justice delayed is justice denied. And that delay is one of THE major reasons millions of Americans actually fear leaving their homes and avoid doing so unless absolutely necessary.
25 years is a travesty. We need to bring back hangings on the courthouse square.
If I was on death row my final meal would be fish and chips and chocolate ice cream. And execution by a firing squad. I hate injections, Covid and otherwise.
like health-care, America's justice system has become an expensive and bureaucratic clogged toilet

IMHO “motive” in homicide cases should not be admissible in court proceedings except in cases where the defendant alleges his action was based either on self-defense or on the defense of someone else.
Playing the race card until the end.
Topeka was a deliberate torture rape murder of several young men and women for the express purpose of rape , torture, murder. Blacks did it so it has been ‘erased’.
Texas doesn’t mess around...heres great site....it used to include their last meal, but they stopped posting that.
