I cannot tell the difference between propaganda and satire anymore when it comes to Ukrainian official statements and propaganda. I have read comic books with better scripting.

As I said in my post above - all the Ukrainians I know - the refugees who came to SE Poland and others that we have helped out with AND Ukrainians who have lived outside Ukraine for years -- all of them, every last one of them, wants to keep fighting because they don't believe that any "peace" is possible while Putin is in power.

Put yourself in their position

Putin grabbed Crimea and created a frozen conflict in the Donbas. This was practically a new border and the conflict was practically over

But Putin came back in 2022 for more land and this time he went and attacked Kyiv and killed many.

They know that if they had surrendered in March, they would have been assimilated into Muscowy just as Austria was after Anschluss - broken down into provinces

They know that if they give up now, then Putin or his successor will come back in a few more years to grab more land and create hell for their children or grandchildren

You don't negotiate with raiders -- you chase them out of your land first and then barricade
