House Oversight Chair James Comer is building a killer case against Joe Biden
NY Post ^ | 02/05/2023 | Miranda Devine

Everything has changed in Washington since the Republicans won back the House, and Comer, as chairman of the Oversight Committee, is champing at the bit to hold the Biden administration accountable. That includes getting to the bottom of the Biden family corruption as revealed in Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, and elsewhere, using the awesome power of Congress.

“This is not about Hunter Biden,” Comer said last week in a broad-ranging interview with The Post. “It’s about Joe Biden.” He aims to “prove Joe benefited financially and prove he made decisions against the best interests of the United States.”

Comer is increasingly confident of his case, as whistleblowers come forward to the committee’s investigators from all aspects of the Biden family enterprises, and financial institutions. He says his investigators are examining the hitherto unexplored activities of Joe Biden’s brothers, Jim and Frank — and have witnesses willing to talk.

His initial focus has been to follow the money trail to see how it connects to the Chinese Communist Party. For that purpose, the committee will subpoena 13 banks, the majority of which have been fully cooperative.

Hunter’s high-priced lawyers have been sending letters to the banks warning them not to hand over information to Congress, which Comer says is “bulls–t. They don’t set the rules, Congress sets the rules.”

Hunter’s lawyers also have sent warning letters to Hunter’s former business partners, which Comer describes as “intimidating witnesses.”

He also promises that, unlike previously when Republicans controlled the House, he will crack down savagely on anyone who lies to Congress.

It is so stupid to focus on knocking off Biden. When he is gone a skillful collectivist will take his place.

If you can’t the DOJ to bite then it’s all for naught. And the media will go after anyone who stands up to their golden calf.

Time it right.

It is critical to expose corruption and to prosecute corruption so as to deter others.

>Without a DOJ, I don’t see much happening

It will take tougher Republicans than we're accustomed to, but there are options...

Mark Levin points out almost all these stonewalling executive branch folks, including even most of the Cabinet officers, aren't created by the Constitution, but by Congress. There was no DOJ until Pres. Grant! Before it was created Congress could and did enforce compliance without the executive. And can do so again. Then he reminds us how. It would take GOP spines and cajones, but, as he points out, can anyone doubt today's other side would fail to do it if the circumstances were reversed? If one isn't familiar with Congress's inherent contempt power this is a good 12 minute review.

The one thing I'd add, although I lack Levin's legal history background to confirm it, is that IIRC that power derives from being a legislature of a sovereign country. British Parliament had similar powers. As each state is officially sovereign over its own affairs I'd think each state's legislature should have the same powers. Obviously they should research the powers before trying to use them, but this means the the AZ Senate, now holding hearings on the last election, and being blockaded by a solid front of state office election thieves, should have the same kind of powers to lock up the stonewallers, or at least most of them, without any assistance from the crooks.

If AZ judges continue to block justice that may be the only way to rescue the state. It might be tough on the citizen legislators, but then ask the members of the Continental Congress how tough it was to fight King George! They should pray for the courts to come through as the facts are all on Lake, et al's side. But if they honor their oaths to AZ they should be quietly researching options like Levin outlines. If they become convinced their opponents have literally stolen the AZ executive branch, including the opportunity for any redress via the legal system, from the People, the People's branch must take whatever action it can in response. It's either that or admit to abdicating any claim to power at all and thus any claim to the state being a representative republic. Which the US Constitution says is a sufficient reason for SCOTUS to back them.

Go get them Rep. Comer. You are targeting the real villains and their shyster lawyers.

Your mantra should be, “If you lie or cover up Biden criminality, I will jail your lying ass”.
