“this balloon was able to penetrate our airspace”
Because Canada did not shoot down the balloon.
>>“working closely with the FBI”
Yep, time to call in the FBI to help cover up any evidence of anything that could make Biden look bad.
Thats what they are there for after all, to help democrats stay in power.
It’s a compromise to appease his Chicom masters. He had no choice but to have it shot down. They’re mad it was shot down but maybe Joe will catch a break from them for making sure we won’t find any useful debris.
Shoulda nuked it.
I was wondering, would it have been feasible instead to fly a plance close to the balloon and used powerful guns to puncture the balloon instead when it was crossing a deserted area?
China Joe: “President Xi, we destroyed all the evidence so it won’t embarrass you”
“I can’t go into more detail, but we were able to study and scrutinize the balloon and its equipment, which has been valuable.”.......
sounds like covering up for not shootingit down earlier,,,
tobad we cant believe anything coming fom “our” government
I thought our aircraft had Gatling guns?.............Obsolete tech?...............
If their plan was to shoot it down off the coast, then there was plenty of time to get ships in position. The plan and options should have been in place before the balloon even left the Pacific Ocean. No ships were in position. Therefore, the whole thing was just made up on the fly. What a horrible regime we live under. Even better. Why was it not shoot down over the Pacific?
I can’t go into more detail, but we were able to study and scrutinize the balloon and its equipment.
However it’s in a secured area right next to Joe’s Corvette for his inspection of data.
I would loved to photshop Joe’s forest green corvette hanging under the ChiCom balloon.
Using guns would endanger a 100 million dollar airframe and pilot. Way too much danger of a collision, especially if debris separated.
Agree and him
Diplomatic talk. Canada wants to let China know they stand with the U.S., and are as just as miffed at the PRC, as shown by the Canadian Defence Minister's statement.
It's a good thing they didn't shoot it down over land, where there would have been a much better chance of recovering this information.
Former F-14 pilot Ward Carroll gives his take here:

Guns are good out to 1,000 feet, AIM-9X a couple miles. Probably too dangerous to point the plane directly at something that big, shoot it, and then try to avoid hitting it, or debris.
I’m not sure why people think that this government, the ones who have declared half the population as the enemy, is telling us a single piece of truthful information.
Even the words “And” and “The” are lies.
Even flying at 100 kt, at 1000 feet you have less than six seconds to turn and avoid hitting a very large it. In a tail chase, where the target is moving almost as fast as the pursuer, not a consideration.
The “Abused Wife” syndrome. If I hadn’t made him mad, he would not have beat me. He is going to change, I know he is. I would not believe the Government now if they said,”Water will wet you.”
