Vice President Harris on Monday announced a nearly billion-dollar investment in Central America, as part of the Biden administration’s efforts to address root causes of migration in the region.
The investments will be made as part of a public-private partnership by a range of U.S.-based companies, from Columbia Sportswear Company to financial institutions like Microwd, which offers microloans to female entrepreneurs.
Harris will detail the funding commitments and next steps for the administration’s efforts during a Monday afternoon meeting with private sector leaders and government aides “to strategize on next steps and announce progress we’ve made in this effort,” according to a senior administration official.
The Partnership for Central America, a nonprofit organization and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will coordinate the investments, and a call to action for other companies that wish to invest in the region through the same mechanism.

Can anyone point to me in the constitution were it gives the government this authority?
If they really “invested” in central America, that wouldn’t be so bad - farmers, coal miners and many others have been very hard hit by fed.gov policies over that last couple of decades, and they need the help.
But the Dems lie about everything, and on top of that don’t give a damn about people here. So they lie about spending by calling it an “investment,” and then they go and do that spending on behalf of people who aren’t their constituents.
That old saying is true: The Democrats are the Evil Party, the Republicans are the Stupid Party.
Ever notice how our corrupt politicians always have billions (so they can get kickbacks) for foreign countries, are always complaining no money for SS and that the system must be reformed.
This could be a rare example of our government actually doing something more or less right. Addressing illegal immigration by supporting infrastructure development and job growth where they live would not only cut down on illegals, it could help us wean ourselves from dependence on China. We’d be better off buying from factories and mills in El Salvador and Honduras and Mexico than from CCP-China.

Never mind that we require charities to take care of our incapacitated soldiers, that SSI and mediscare are broke, our roads and bridges are falling apart, cities look like third world cesspools, our children can’t learn no matter how much money is thrown at screwls, we are a drug and thug naiton and on and on and on and on.
