God DID smite Turkey for the Armenian massacre. The Ottoman Empire fell soon afterward.
Timeline - the genocide began in 1915, when there were 2 million Armenians living in the Ottoman Empire, and the empire collapsed in 1923, when fewer than 400,000 Armenians remained.
Turkey became a military dictatorship in the wake of this collapse. And it still is a military dictatorship, now reverting to the bad old ways of the Ottoman Empire.
Their only virtue was that they were anti-Soviet allies of the western powers. And now that seems to be going away.
As I said, if Russia falls, Turkey rises.
History teaches us, that one baddie always replaces another.
Well Ataturk sure wasn't smited for it.
