And I seem to remember that the whole ‘Chicken and Waffles’ was invented by a black restaurant owner.

Sounds like stereotyping blacks by officials of our failed public school system.

Chicken and Waffles are a Pennsylvania Dutch invention. It started in a Philadelphia restaurant with Fried Catfish and Waffles, but, as the Catfish in that area were seasonal, they started serving Chicken with the Waffles instead.

It is a QUITE delicious meal.

This article is quite adequate for this converstation:

> chicken and waffles with a watermelon dessert <

Was such a menu occasionally served previously? If so, this is much ado about nothing. In other words, quit your whining.

However, if this was the first time then maybe someone has some explaining to do.

I lived in New York City for 21 years, and never saw chicken and waffles served anywhere.

I always thought chicken and waffles were more of a Baltimore thing.

Never understood “chicken and waffles”.

Chicken and a buttermilk biscuit...now that’s a snack. Round it out with green beans, mashed potatoes and corn-on-the-cob...that’s a meal. Top it off with apple pie and ice cream...then it’s nap time.

My school had ‘theme’ food all the time. 70% Hispanic, 20% black, 10% white. I loved that high school, even though it was kind of tough to be white. My first pretend boyfriend was a Hispanic boy, my first crush was the most popular guy in school a black guy. I was a white girl. Somehow I lived through it. The Mexican food days were fantastic. Chimichangas!

Don’t many white southerners also love chicken and waffles? I do but not served together. Watermelons I can eat those all year long. Soul food is good eats. Only the racially conflicted would turn it into some mealy thin skinned agitation.

I wonder how these things get started. Fried chicken is one of my favorite foods. Pancakes? Abd does anyone on earth not like watermelon? I knew a black guy who refused to eat watermelon. I told him he was crazy.

What the hec is wrong with chicken & waffles? Culturally insensitive? Lol.

I'm doing bbq and soul food on Super Bowl Sunday.
Since it is Black History Month, will I be shamed for cultural appropriation?

Frickin' morons.
