In a major blow to the industry, Impossible Foods, one of the most well-known manufacturers of meat alternatives, recently announced that it will be cutting 20 percent of its workforce. This marks the company’s third wave of layoffs within the last year.

The products aren’t doing well for the simple fact that a little research reveals they aren’t any healthier than real meat products and in many cases not AS healthy.
Why would I want that?
Nope. Once they are able to insert the foot and mouth issue in to place (blaming the invaders from the south) they will require the decimation of a lot of cattle. We will enjoy the “junebug delight”. The road to hell is paved with peons.
We saw a news clip on lab-grown meat last week. We understood it to say that in the not-too-distant future when you order meat in restaurants, that’s what you’ll be served. Nobody said if they would have to advertise it as lab-grown or not, but restaurants will be their first customers.

They complain that cow methane is a problem and we have to reduce beef in this country when really its controlling the meat industry. How about the deer population that probably numbers in the millions not including every other animal on earth, methane is not an issue here? This is a big bullsh## narrative they spew. The only way these private sector start-ups survive is through government coercion of the market. When forced to perform in the real world. they fail. Even democrats don't want to eat that stuff.
I have been watching the exodus of fake meat products from stores locally for months.
It will take manual intervention by corporate suits to keep them in the stores when their inventory system ends up omitting them for reorder due to lack of demand (sales).
Headline: That means in the absence of cash from such manufacturers that you and I - normal people - will be subsidizing the stocking of grocery shelves with even higher prices for everything else because they take a loss to liquidate said products nearing their ‘best by’ date.
That’s total BS.
I saw some of that Impossible stuff in Walmart I think and it was not touched , when will it start sprouting
A reminder of what happens when man pretends he can improve on God’s creation.
I learned that I was suffering from a Vitamin B 12 deficiency resulting from a drug I was taking and just being old.

From the beginning of time man has always eaten meat. You can’t fool Mother Nature. These people never learn.
Come on people. If it works there’s a market for it. Doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future. Just like Solar and wind-right?
You can be sure our betters and those demanding WE eat fake meat, bugs and weeds do not do so themselves.

Same here. I’ve watched as the fake “meat” section at my local Kroger has gotten smaller and smaller until it is now tucked away in just a tiny freezer at the end of aisle 15. It’s the one section that always seems to be fully stocked with shoppers just walking by it to choose from the products nearby.
