I was in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I was in the Fifth Grade.
You are correct, there were Soviet nuclear missiles capable of striking much of the United States in Cuba. They also has nuclear equipped tanks, poised to roll onto our Naval Base. And the area was swarming with Soviet submarines as well.
“Hey, your CIC, Balless Joe Biden hasn’t declared war on Russia ! Why not ? I’m sure you would approve.”
My CIC was Richard Nixon.
You sound like you lust for war between the US and Russia. Gets you all tingly, eh? Well, I don’t have such a desire. But if war ever came, I would support my home, my country, the United States. You, however, likely wouldn’t. That’s good to know.
Yup. And yet, the Russophiles, or Americaphobes, or both continue to trot out an equivalence between the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 and the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine (and they also always neglect to mention that Russia first invaded Ukraine in 2014).
Ah wank off war pig
No sided taken, Zelensky and Vlad are evil, support neither for we are witnessing evil destroying evil.
Facts: Both sides feel justified, none will ever surrender and thus the blood will flow. Vlad holds all the cards, he will accomplish what he stated in his 24 Feb address. The quicker one side “ wins”, the quicker it ends.
Where are the calls for Peace? None from Zelensky, Vlad, the US or the EU. Let the Ukies and Vlad slug it out, the odds clearly are with Vlad, the sooner the better.
Says csvset, the warmonger. Getting all tingly thinking of war, aren’t you? Face getting a little flushed, eh? You’re pathetic.
BTW: I’m still waiting on the link that supports your claim that Boris Johnson scuttled a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine that both had apparently agreed to. Why is that? Could it be that you are making !@#$ up? Post a link to support your claim (and it would carry some weight if it is from a reliable source, not some Russian blog). And, if the two parties were in agreement, and Johnson scuttled it, why hasn’t there been a hue and cry from Ukraine?
Post your link. Or man up and admit you are FOS.
You say you have taken no side in this war. Unfortunately, your posting history does not support that.
I do agree with you that the quicker one side wins, the quicker the war ends. But, that is a no-brainer. Of course if one side wins that means the other side capitulates or gives up, and the war is over.
Putin is fighting this war for ego; Ukraine is fighting it for survival. The Russian people, for the most part, are getting a raw deal. Ukraine poses no existential threat to Russia; but Russia poses an existential threat to Ukraine.
Never said I had a link. I said he was a POS . Change my mind. Talk to Nixon about it gramps.
At this point I wouldn't be so sure of that. All roads in Russia lead to Moscow. If I were Putin, I wouldn't want hundreds of thousands of angry defeated soldiers transiting through Moscow.
“Never said I had a link. I said he was a POS.”
You are right. I apologize. I had you mixed up with Toad of Toad Hall; he (or she; or, in these days, it) was the one who mentioned Johnson stopping a peace deal. You followed immediately behind that with your photo of Johnson, in which you did, indeed, say he was a POS.
My error.
One word, Donbass. This war started in 2014 when the Ukies started shelling the ethnic Russians. Both war cheerleading sides feel they are justified.
My money goes on Vlad, as viewed with facts. Make no mistake, this war ends when Vlad decides it does. Aside from the fact the Ukies are the most corrupted nation in the world, ( yes, been to both, trained Ivan’s for three years) , they are spent, a welfare nation, deenergized, depopulated, deindustrialized.
“One word, Donbass. This war started in 2014 when the Ukies started shelling the ethnic Russians.”
That’s kind of what happens when one starts a civil war, especially with the aid and assistance and support of another country.
Remember, Russia mobilized its troops in February and March 2014 to seize control of Crimea.
In March 2014, pro-Russian and anti-government (anti-Ukraine government) separatists in Donbas began protests and demonstrations against the government, at around the same time Russia annexed (illegally) Crimea. The pro-Russia “demonstrators” declared (illegally) the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR, respectively).
Armed Russian-backed separatist groups, largely from Russia, Crimea, and Eastern Ukraine, seized government buildings throughout the Donbas, leading to armed conflict with Ukrainian government forces.
Ukraine launched a military counter-offensive against pro-Russian forces in April 2014. In response, Russian artillery, personnel, and what Russia called a “humanitarian convoy” crossed the border. Russian crossings reportedly occurred both in areas that were controlled by pro-Russian forces and those that were not.
In July, 2014, the rebel forces in the Donbas shot down civilian airliner flight MH17, killing all on board. The aircraft was shot down with a missile battery supplied by Russia.
“Aside from the fact the Ukies are the most corrupted nation in the world...”
You do know, I assume, that all credible studies show that while Ukraine is corrupt, Russia is more corrupt? Look it up: There are scores of studies that show that. Russophiles ALWAYS make the claim that Ukraine is the most corrupt country in the world, when in fact their beloved Russia is even more corrupt.

Much ado about nothing.
There was no agreement, and there was nothing even remotely close to an agreement. Russia had a 15-point draft of demands, and Ukraine had a 10-point draft of demand. While there was some harmony between some of the points, Ukraine did NOT accept Russia’s key points, and Russia did not accept Ukraine’s key points, and thus the negotiations stalled.
There is nothing that says Boris Johnson scuttled an agreement because there never was an agreement to scuttle.
One of your links said, “Russia and Ukraine MAY have agreed on a TENTATIVE deal to end the war in April, according to a recent piece in Foreign Affairs. Russian and Ukrainian negotiators APPEARED to have TENTATIVELY agreed on the OUTLINES of a negotiated INTERIM settlement. Russia would withdraw to its position on February 23, when it controlled part of the Donbas region and all of Crimea, and in exchange, Ukraine would promise not to seek NATO membership and instead receive security guarantees from a number of countries.”
Note the non-committal, evasive words: May; tentative; appeared; tentatively; outlines; interim. In other words, there was nothing to “scuttle.”
Alos, it’s interesting that the above-quoted source admitted that Russia had already invaded and occupied parts of Ukraine PRIOR to its February 24, 2022 invasion; namely, those areas it controlled (Crimea — which it had illegally annexed back in 2014; and certain parts of Donbas).
The link also says that, “The biggest sticking point remains Russia’s demand that Ukraine recognise its 2014 annexation of Crimea and the independence of two separatist statelets in the eastern Donbas border region.”
Both of which are non-starters for Ukraine.
Russia is just doing what Russia does: Invade and annex and then demand acceptance...or else.
