LADWP kicked in with the most likely gas-powered backup generators to ensure essential resources stayed online

Gas powered?? Natural gas or gasoline?? Whatever it was, it needs banned. It's Kalifornia, do it for the kidz. Do it for Mudder Erf.

“It’s better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness” is actually a Chinese saying.

They started this with the compliance of the Left. We had a pretty good multi source electric system until they started their phony climate change propaganda thing.

LAX looks like an airport that one would see in a 3rd world banana republic.

> California is nowhere near ready for an all-electric future <

Conservatives respect reality, and make adjustments as necessary.
Liberals ignore reality, and continue on with their fantasies.

Bottom line: It’s gonna be an all-electric future in California. So get used to rolling blackouts and power failures. Full speed ahead!

Betcha there was power over at the Private Terminal where the celebs fly. 12 suites with it’s own TSA, spa, and a BMW ride across the tarmac.

Hopefully the Inflation Reduction Act included $50 billion for airport windmills, one big one atop the control tower with titanium cutting blades, and small windmills for behind idling jet engines.

Airports must have large backup generators to keep critical loads operating. What happened to them? Did Newsom cut off their natural gas supply? Did he sell the #2 diesel oil in their tanks to Biden to refill SPR?

I have the solution - it’s not a problem.

More solar panels 😏

“Under a groundbreaking new state regulation, 35% of new 2026 car models sold in California must be zero-emissions, ramping up to 100% in 2035.”

The emissions come from the tailpipe or the power plant, there is no difference. There are no zero emissions.

My understanding of California’s energy production is outsource from nuclear, hydro and coal plants in Arizona, Nevada and Idaho.

How much I cannot remember but it seemed like 15-20%. But it has allowed pols like Jerry Brown and Newsome to cut instate fossil fuels and nuclear sites and claim green energy is taking up the slack.

If these states refuse to resign current contracts, California is in a heap of trouble

"Power outages like this one at LAX are a stark reminder that California is nowhere near ready for an all-electric future when it cannot even handle power management today.

The widespread east coast/midwest power failure of August 2003 is still pretty fresh in my mind. I was in an area where the power was out for over a week. Fortunately I found a source of dry ice a few miles away that I could use to keep my refrigerator/freezer cool during those hot days. I'm sure glad I didn't have an EV back then.

Hmm. The eastern United States had a gasoline shortage a few months ago. Parts of the world are having shortages of natural gas.

Everything we use occasionally gets in short supply.

“NO FLIGHTS WERE CANCELLED OR DELAYED”-—

MUST be total lie-—

LAX is far too busy for that kind of time gap with NO ACTIVITY
