U.S. says Russia violating last major arms treaty
washington Times ^ | 2-1-2023 | Bill Gertz

The Biden administration on Tuesday formally accused Russia of violating the New START arms treaty over what it said was Moscow‘s failure to allow inspections of weapons sites or agree to meetings on treaty disputes. President Biden agreed to extend the New START treaty — one of the last major arms control treaties still in force — for five years shortly after taking office in January 2021 — without seeking changes or concessions from the Kremlin related to its strategic forces buildup. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine barely a year later has put bilateral relations in a deep freeze since then. “Russia‘s refusal to facilitate inspection activities prevents the United States from exercising important rights under the treaty and threatens the viability of U.S.-Russian nuclear arms control,” a State Department spokesman said in a statement.

It very obvious to me that we have Russian bots who are posting on this site. They openly support Russia and do not seem to know understand our country. they definitely support Russia and its aggression today. This article is just a reminder that Russia is still an enemy.

It is very obvious to me that we have Pro-Ukrainian Trolls who are posting on this site that are either paid by government agencies of one flavor or another or who are part of government agencies or part of some group pushing Globalist concerns.

This is evidenced by the wholesale Propaganda they are continually posting.

Me no bot. Me human being.

The same as China, Ukraine, North Korea, . . . in fact about every country on earth has taken advantage of us in one way or another. Some monetarily and others in assorted ways. Each country looks after their own interests (except us of course). Our politicians and the MSM are our enemies as well if you're making an enemy list.

You sound like Trump. He wanted to end this war billions of dollars ago and save many lives. The Deep State does not like him.

USSR/Russia had refrigerated SS-18’s with Smallpox after the so-called Bio bans to wipe out any survivors. You’ve never ever been able to trust a treaty with them, it’s stupid to even bother.

I am saddened by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

I also think our getting involved overall will not make things any better. There’s a difference between fighting a proxy war with the USSR by arming the Mujahedeen in Afghanistan, and fighting a proxy war where the backdrop is continental Europe.

Russia may well be an enemy at some level, but Putinism does not share the essential world-domination vision intrinsic to Soviet Marxism. Not our fight. We will only make things worse.

RE: Trump wanted to avoid this....

Yeah, what a weird idea. Stop a useless war that would drain our country’s money and military weapons. Couldn’t have that.

Lol. Arms treaties are to keep the peace. You don’t honor arms treaties with countries that you are actively AT WAR with and America is definitely at war with Russia.

What’s good for the goose is good for the gander: we withdrew from the 1972 “Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty” in June 2002. The very next day, Russia withdrew from START II, since their ratification of it was conditional on the perpetuity of the ABM Treaty.

And after Russia has been sanctioned out the yin-yang by the United States, what motivation do they have to engage in an arms reduction treaty with us? Especially when politicos in Washington D.C. and the EU are yowling so publicly about escalating arms shipments to Ukraine?

Got hope Russia don’t reduce their arms by sending some our way. I know what you’re thinking (then we’ll send some thief way). The brilliant leadership we have will probably hit Omaha. We are scewed. BOHICA

We need a new direction dealing with Russia, and America has an oversupply of communist indoctrination “Club Ed” resort universities. Offer student loan funded resort accommodations, and woke American jobs after the war, to all Russian troops that are ready to surrender in Ukraine. This might upset the ongoing brown/white voter replacement ratio, but war over.

we pulled out of the ABM treaty because after 9/11 we wanted to build a missile defense. We pulled out of the INF treaty because we want to have theater nukes for a future war with China. So we accused them of violating it to have an excuse. We pulled out of the open skies treaty.
And Merkel spilled the beans on Minsk II merely being a ruse to but time to build up the Uke army till it was ready to resume it’s war on the Donbass and maybe even Crimea.

At this point Russia has very little reason to trust us enough to sign any new agreements.
