From the article: A spokesperson for the air and space museum released a statement about the incident.

"Asking visitors to remove hats and clothing is not in keeping with our policy or protocols. We provided immediate training to prevent a re-occurrence of this kind of incident, and have determine steps to ensure this does not happen again," said Alison Wood, the museum's deputy director of communications.

Looks like they are acknowledging they F'd up, but they doesn't help the students that were told to leave.

I would bet there would not have been any issues if they had been wearing BLM hats.

I assumed people would click on the link and read the story and see the picture for themselves. I saw no need to clutter up FR with unnecessary pictures when they could view it in just one click.

You assume very incorrectly.

Mayyybe half the readers will read the whole excerpt. I'd bet around 10% routinely read only the title before posting. About the same number that click through and read the whole article.
