More than a quarter of Republican voters say they’d back former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election even if he runs as a third-party candidate — possibly threatening to split the GOP electorate as the party seeks to win back the White House.
As the 2024 primary field begins to take shape, a majority of Republican voters are seeking to move past Trump and elevate another candidate as their party’s nominee. However, nearly 30% of “Always Trumpers” may be standing in their way, according to a new poll from the Bulwark.
“A large majority of GOP voters is ready to move on from Donald Trump. But a devoted minority might not let them,” said Sarah Longwell, who conducted the poll. “This is the 'Always Trump' faction of the Republican party. And they are why the GOP could be sleepwalking into another Donald Trump catastrophe.”
In a series of hypothetical matchups between Trump and other potential Republican candidates, polling shows the former president is fading with GOP voters at large. In a crowded primary field between Trump and nine of the party’s top contenders, the former president garnered roughly 28% of the vote — coming in below Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who clinched 39%, according to the poll.

Whine whine whine. Need a bottle?
I don't see this happening unless the GOP manipulates results - as they did with RINOmney.
If so, I'll vote for Trump as a third party candidate.
I’m at the point now where I won’t vote for any presidential candidate unless his home has been raised by the FBI.
And I’ll never vote for a lawyer again, either.
I’m not sure where your math is. Maybe I didn’t clarify my original statement.
The democrats control 260 EC votes already due to the fraud mechanisms that are firmly in place.
My bad for not being clearer
With the Democrat perfection of manufactured “votes” and ballot harvesting etc etc and the Courts refusal to be objective arbiters of election irregularities, and feckless Republicans who refuse to see what is so obvious it does not batter who runs on either side. Fetterman for President would be a shoe in the way elections are decided in many states now!
Not every lost election is due to fraud.
Run good candidates, win elections.
I stand by my point. DeSantis can flip AZ, GA, and VA. Trump flips nothing and possibly even loses a few more.
Plus, if one is going to argue that elections are now unwinnable because of the margin of fraud, why even bother running Trump? Let some other loser take the fall.
Trump seems to think these states are again winnable or else he wouldn't be wasting his time running, would he?
Heck, Trump isn't even talking about real election fraud anymore other than the election was stolen from him only because the Hunter Biden laptop story was spiked.
No republican wins in the general until they figure out how to play according to the new rules the dems installed in 2020.
DeSantis doesn’t flip Az or Ga. Hobbs didn’t win, yet she won.
The same method that was used to install Warnock and Ossoff will be used against any Republican in Georgia. If you want to bring up Kemp winning, feel free. He’s doing everything the Democrats want, anyway.
The Dems cheated to win. In order to stop this lets run the candidate that proved he can’t stop the cheating 3 times over with the exact same strategy that lost before.
They’re geniuses and “very savvy.” Maybe they should go ahead and write Putin in on their ballots. Maybe they should demand to have the mullahs and Xi on the ballot, too. I’m sure that they could pull it off by disseminating more retarded conspiracy theories and flaming Republicans in Q-friendly social media.
And there is the problem. There aren't enough of us that would vote for Trump for him to win, but more than enough of us who would vote for Trump to hand the win to the DemocRATs.
It would be Bill Clinton winning with 43% of the vote thanks to Ross Perot all over again.
“Argue it with me all you want. DJT’s advocacy of the killer clotshot is still costing him support.”
Only from those who already don’t support him, they use it as a cudgel. Everybody else knows it’s irrelevant now. That isn’t what will sink him, he’s got much bigger problems to beat.
Bon Secours Sports Medicine is a hospital?
Sorry, that’s a physical therapy clinic.
But that’s in Richmond, Virginia.
HCA Healthcare still mandates the shot for their employees:

Parham Doctor’s Hospital requires the vax.
and I’m sure there are more.
—> And there is the problem.
Disagree. If the Republican Party cheats to eliminate trump, I will not reward them with the White House.
You can choose that path. I will not.
The republicans and democrats are simply two cheeks on the same butt.
PS - Clinton won because Bush I was a lousy candidate.
Trump will never sign a loyalty oath. If he does, the GOPe, a.k.a. “swamp critters” will scheme a way to defraud Trump out of the nomination. If it is a fair race in the states, Trump will win.
The political picture looks bleak indeed. There are too many people whose minds and bodies have become permanently insensitive from drug abuse and obsessive quest for the infinite orgasm.
Me: "Do you require proof of COVID vaccine to use hospital facilities or inpatient services?"
Them: "No, we no longer require that or even test for that"
Of course I voted for McCain and Romney. That’s what adults do. Unfortunately we have too many children running home to get under their bed. And some even brag that they helped the democrats win elections. Should be so proud. Ugh. Idiots!!!!!
Then you better get to voting and bring your family and friends. And after that volunteer at your local Republican headquarters and go door knocking everyday until the primaries and then even more for the general.
Clinton won because 18.9% of the electorate voted for him and his very Trump-like "America First" agenda.
Had he not run, the vast majority of Perot voters would have voted Bush and Clinton would not have won.
That's what a third party does, and that's why we were urging Bernie Sanders to run as an independent against Hillary when he lost the 2016 DemocRAT primary.
