'America's Governor' points to the scoreboard in response to the former President's fulminations. Gov. Ron DeSantis is finally on offense against former President Donald Trump, spotlighting the two men’s most recent elections.
Trump, who has attacked DeSantis repeatedly since before the November 2022 election, had gotten away with relative impunity slamming the man he’s dubbed “Ron DeSanctimonious.” The most recent attack was on DeSantis’ handling of COVID-19.
But at a press conference in Bradenton, the Governor said the people of Florida had “rendered” their “verdict” with his re-election last year, offering yet another preview of a potential 2024 GOP Primary slugfest between the former allies.
“What I would just say is this. I roll out of bed, I have people attacking me from all angles. It’s been happening for many, many years,” DeSantis said.
“If you take a crisis situation like COVID, the good thing is that if you’re an elected executive, you have to make all kinds of decisions. You’ve got to steer that ship. And the good thing is, the people are able to render a judgment on that, whether they re-elect you or not.”
“I’m happy to say that, you know, in my case, not only did we win re-election, we won with the highest percentage of the vote that any Republican Governor candidate has in the history of the state of Florida,” DeSantis said, noting his raw vote margin “nearly doubled” the previous record.
“That verdict has been rendered by the people of the state of Florida,” DeSantis added to applause.

Thanks, bummer regarding his wife, but if his instinct is to stay in FL for the time being, he’ll do great and likely will end up at the national level in some way (hopefully a big way!).

Since DeSantis hasn’t announced, Trump is putting DeSantis in the minds of folks who never heard of him. All the insults are having an opposite effect. He can’t keep this up for two years. It’ll get stale.

I love Reagan, but now I wonder how naïve I was when I first heard this. I never knew how deep and evil the Establishment (plenty of people in this group to break the commandment) is and how they are destroying America.

DeSantis doesn’t need any help. Trump is doing this for him.
DeSantis deserves about as much loyalty as he’s giving. He wouldn’t be where he is without trump and is of an age where he could sit out this presidential election and take up the bid on the next election. He’s allowing his ambition to get in the way of what’s good for the country as far as I am concerned. It should go trump, desantis, desantis is they could just get their strategy together. Instead its going to be a dem again because of this sort of betrayal.
I for one will not vote for desantis in the primary, and if he does run against trump then I will never vote for him.
Plus, there is a lot of talk about his globalist ties and who is funding his campaign. Since he is essentially beholden to these donors, I’m not interested.
Take a look at who has funded his campaigns. You may make the same decisions.
He won’t address his terrible picks. He never errors, just ask folks. He’s either playing galactic, interstellar chess and we normies are too dumb, he was manipulated or deceived or it was someone else fault. Without fail. His base and the level of insanity will make him unelectable.
That all gets washed-out by COVID, Warp Speed, lockdown, the WEF and 0% interest rates.
Most important is his EO’s on the WEF’s agenda.

Desantis has a very brite future . . . ahead of him, but not yet.
FL Ron is at his best when he is the getting the work done, and taking deserved recognition for that work.

Not to get too into the statistics…when a candidate was clearly walking away with the race the voters are going to drop off. That’s why they discuss margins instead of vote totals.

I guess he can just be another Chamber of Commerce type, and simply ‘lose the good fight’ as those before Trump in mostly clean elections. But showing some MAGA might just help turnout on his side.

The problem DeSantis has is that those millions of hard-core Trump supporters aren’t seeing what you’re referring to, although I admit it’s quite obvious if one spends 10 seconds looking.

desantis issued a statement 2 weeks ago instructing people not to donate any money to any organization that claims he’s running for president in 2024...
