The continuing search for classified documents in the possession of President Joe Biden has turned up more written information and resulted already in a report about the seized items. The recent search was conducted over a 12-hour period on Friday with the approval of the president’s attorneys, unlike the raid on former President Donald Trump’s home, CNN reported. Also unlike Trump’s scenario, there have been many documents found that date back to Biden’s days as a vice president and senator when he did not have the clearance of a sitting president.
The findings are causing other previous Democrat presidents have been quick to issue statements insisting they have followed protocols involving documents.
Former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, both Democrats, have publicly announced that they turned over all classified documents to the National Archives and Records Administration when they left office. “Consistent with the Presidential Records Act, all of President Obama’s classified records were submitted to the National Archives upon leaving office. NARA continues to assume physical and legal custody of President Obama’s materials to date,” Obama’s office said in an email, and “All of President Clinton’s classified materials were properly turned over to NARA in accordance with the Presidential Records Act,” a Clinton spokesperson told Fox News.
The recent search of Biden’s home has resulted in additional materials, namely some personal notebooks. NBC News noted that in addition to collecting the documents, FBI agents also scooped up several notebooks at President Joe Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home that he wrote during his tenure as vice president, according to sources who are familiar with the probe.
“DOJ took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President. DOJ also took for further review personally handwritten notes from the vice-presidential years,” the president’s personal attorney said.
Biden’s troubles with the Justice Department are outlined in a report issued Saturday, and those troubles in regard to the possession of classified documents seem to be wider than previously known, Conservative Brief reports.
“The notebooks were seized because Biden’s notes on some of the pages relate to his official business as vice president, including details of his diplomatic engagements during the Obama administration, and may refer to classified information, this same person said, adding that the notebooks do not have classified markings on them, but some of the handwritten notes inside them could be considered as such given their sensitive content,” the report said.
“Other pages in the notebooks, while they may not contain potentially classified information, could still be considered government property under the Presidential Records Act because they pertain to official business Biden conducted as vice president, according to the person familiar with the investigation,” the report continued.
“The notebooks include a mix of handwritten notes from Biden on various topics, both personal and official, according to the person familiar with the seizure. On some pages, Biden wrote down things about his family or his life unrelated to public office, said this same person. On other pages, he memorialized in writing some of his experiences or thoughts as vice president at the time, according to this same source,” NBC News noted. A source told the outlet that Biden kept a large number of notebooks but it isn’t clear how many were confiscated by FBI agents.
The report added:
Biden’s possession of notebooks from his time as vice president that include notes about official business he conducted in that role raises questions about whether he appropriately followed procedures for preserving presidential records. It also raises questions about whether the notebooks are considered personal or official, and how other vice presidents and presidents who kept similar notebooks while in office have handled theirs.
Federal law allows presidents and vice presidents to write and, upon leaving office, keep diaries and notes of a “personal” nature, so long as they hadn’t shared the material with anyone in the time they held office.
During the process of searching Biden’s home and offices for documents, it has been stated that the U.S. Secret Service apparently does not have any visitor logs from Biden’s Delaware home. The lack of transparency about the logs has given rise to questions as to why this would be so.
Former President Trump has stated that he keeps extensive logs as to those who enter or leave his residence in Florida, Mar-a-Lago.
Now the Department of Justice is considering searching more locations for classified documents after a search of Biden’s Delaware home uncovered more classified material, CBS News reported. “Justice Department officials are also considering the possibility of conducting other consensual searches at locations linked to Mr. Biden, said the source familiar with the investigation,” the report said.
To sanitize if not destroy
Making sure the House doesn’t get a hold of the evidence
I told you he was a hoarder
In the words of Frank Romano: “Holy Shit Mary Ann!” … from “Everyone Loves Raymond.”
Were they in SWAT gear dragging news crews with them?
Yup! Just as the A.G. has named a Special Counsel to protect it all under the "ongoing investigation" shield. We no longer have Rule of Law in America.
Right there’s a bunch of clues and information of various sorts that’ll never see the light of day.
The FBI will sit on these books lest the world find out POTUS colors outside the lines.
It’s all a show.
Nothing to see here.
“For safe keeping”
Just reading through a classified document won’t usually get you into trouble. But if you were reading it, and making notes...then it begs the question...how were you going to use the notes?
Also, the writing in these particular notes...is it Joe’s handwriting or Jill’s?
Just keeps sounding like he was looking for economic weaknesses....to find a path for a middle-guy to exist and get deals made.
Proof of espionage.
Which they will hide and sanitize.
AHHAHA. And fools think Biden will ever be held to account. He is UNTOUCHABLE. Nothing will happen to that fambly.
Two objectives here: ‘Operation Stop Joe Biden’ from running for reelection is still rolling right along and the FBI is taking possession of incriminating materials so it never sees the light of day and no additional democrats can be implicated.
One of the Russia hoaxers who went after Trump with worked at the National Archives.
The classification system is congress giving legal support to Presidential efforts to keep the information unto the office. It is *for him*. That doesn’t apply to the Vice President.
Note the National Archives employee:
... A trove of reports show two Obama-era officials are partially responsible for a misinformation campaign designed to derail Republican Roy Moore’s senatorial campaign in Alabama. Former President Barack Obama campaign organizer, Mikey Dickerson, was instrumental in a disinformation campaign targeting Moore, reports show. He was not alone. Evan Coren, who has worked for the National Archives unit since Obama’s first term, also targeted the Republican’s campaign.
Coren, for his part, is a progressive activist who handles classified documents for the Department of Energy.... /snip
Biden uses lots of pages because the words written with kindergarten chubby crayons use up a lot of space.
