Recall in the old Soviet Union they had internal passports so roaming around just wasn’t a thing. One had to have an approved reason for being where one was.

7500 credit is almost impossible to actually receive. I have managed new car dealerships for 35 years, here’s the basic rules currently.

final assembly in N America
can’t list for over 55k
80k for trucks Both are almost non existent!
you have to owe at least the 7500 in taxes
adjusted gross income can’t be over 150k or 300k for couple

2 things:

1) It better be a short road trip. EV’s are good commuter cars, lousy road trip cars.

2) Biden is a senile old idiot.

Updated 30 Jan: Daily Mail: California fire crews use SIX THOUSAND gallons of water to extinguish burning Tesla Model S whose battery spontaneously combusted while driving down busy freeway
The Tesla caught on fire while the driver was on Highway 50 in Rancho Cordova
Fire officials said that nothing was wrong with the car before it combusted
Approximately 6,000 gallons of water was used to extinguish the blaze
By VANESSA SERNA FOR DAILYMAIL.COM
A white Tesla model burst into flames in a Rancho Cordova wrecking yard in June after the car had spent weeks sitting there after a collision.

Firefighters arrived at the wrecking yard to find the Tesla fully engulfed in flames. Each time the firefighters attempted to extinguish the flames, the Tesla’s battery would reignite the fire.

The fire department posted an Instagram video of the ordeal, saying that even when firefighters moved the Tesla onto its side to spray the battery directly, the car would burst into flames again ‘due to the residual heat.’

Eventually, the firefighters dug a pit near the Tesla and moved the burning car into it and then filled the pit with water, ‘effectively submerging the battery compartment.’...

in low population density Australia, the problems of providing EV infrastructure are even worse, and the major State of Victoria already has firefighters refusing to attend any lithium-ion fire in basement car parks of high-rise buildings, as they cannot get their equipment in to allow submersion of the battery.

no to EVs...and lithium-ion batteries. the State of Queensland in Australia has had 26 house fires so far this year caused by Li-ion batters in eBikes & eScooters! yet no-one is considering banning the things.

Send that EV through the Moki Dugway, and pray you don’t lose power. I can make it from Dallas to Reno in 3 days. It would take a week in an EV. No thanks.

As long as you’re driving a Tesla, there’s no problem at all taking a road trip across the country—plenty of chargers everywhere. If you’re driving a POS EV from one of the other manufacturers, though, I can imagine you’ll have problems.

They keep pushing for more electric cars without the infrastructure needed to support more electric cars.
..............

Because in the end they don’t want us driving.
