Probably not.
Those 50 thousand are in the Senior Executive Service, I believe. They can be fired much more easily than the rest of the million or so federal civil service.

Not to be picky but there are only about 8000 SES out of the 2.8 million federal employees in 2021.
ALL SES appointees are useless POS in my opinion.
