Not to be picky but there are only about 8000 SES out of the 2.8 million federal employees in 2021.
ALL SES appointees are useless POS in my opinion.
This will blow your socks off - In 2021, around 18.28 million people were working for state and local governments in the United States.

I was using a report which said there were about 4000 appointees in the SES, and that was about 10% of the total, which would make roughly 40,000 SES members.
You likely have a better number.
