The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, New York, has covered up a large painting of Jesus Christ in one of its buildings following a complaint from an advocacy group.
After receiving a complaint from the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, whose founder and president Michael Weinstein fired off a letter to Vice Adm. Joanna M. Nunan on Jan. 10, the school unfurled a white curtain over the large image of Jesus walking on water toward a boat of men lost at sea.
"I come to you this day to demand that the USMMA, which you currently command as its Superintendent, expeditiously remove a massive, sectarian painting illustrating the supremacy of Jesus Christ from the so-called ‘Elliot M. See Room’ located inside of Wiley Hall, which serves as an administrative building at USMMA," Weinstein wrote to Nunan in the letter, which called for the painting to be moved to a religious setting such as the academy's chapel.

This seems really odd.
Some liberal idiot is offended by the depiction of Jesus Christ, so he sends a letter demanding that Jesus be removed? And those in charge of the Merchant Marine Academy dutifully cover up Jesus because some liberal idiot wrote a letter?
Are the powers that be at the Merchant Marine Academy afraid to say “no” to such demands?
The powers that be at the Merchant Marine Academy are afraid of the Liberals and leftists in this country? Is that really what’s going on here, simply being afraid of the left?
My late father, a proud graduate of Kings Point, would have been disgusted.
The goal is to move the painting to ‘an inoffensive space’ in a chapel or such.
First it was Lee and now it is Jesus our defense people are ashamed of.
This is why we go to war.
When someone demands something, the smart thing is to tell them NO. Now if someone wants to discuss something, then I used to always make time to help work out the issue. It’s called LEADERSHIP, something the USMMA is supposed to teach.
I second the motion. Just say no when activists make such demands.
Worried about a lawsuit.....98% of the time, actions such as these are are predicated on that alone.
IIRC, a guy with a very similar name bitched for years about IN GOD WE TRUST being on our currency.
SAME GUY???
This is the guy who sued to keep wreaths off of the graves in Arlington National Cemetery.
I wish they had said I stead “Jesus is not so eone we are ashamed of. If you do t like him then don’t attention. Simple. Noone is forcing you to co vert to Christianity, therefore it is legal to show an artists depiction of the creator”

The fact that they are jusy goes to show how I effective they are as soldiers/fighters. When they are so afraid of a liberals angry opinion that they cover up Jesus, they just prove that they are more concerned aboke political correctness than they are in protecting the nation. Their fear of being seen as politically incorrect is hurting this nation tremendously, and making our military more and more unfit all the time. Their fear is actuslly hampering our militarys readiness to engage, and hampering them from acting effectively on the world stage
We are, IMHO, a post Christian nation. It is all down hill from here unless we follow 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Wenstein and his band of Satanists have never complained about anything other than Christian symbols. They make a living demanding Christian representations be removed and the woke crowd are only too willing to help. The few times he has been challenged in court, he has lost. A terrible judgement awaits him in front of God’s throne.
ONE PERSON!!! ONE A HOLE PERSON. But of course if it were Budha, Guru Nannuk, Ahura Mazda, or a Crescent it would be fine.
Matthew 10:33
King James Version
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
