WASHINGTON — When classified documents turned up in President Biden’s former office, his Delaware home and the garage housing his Corvette, the political impact was predictable. Republicans gleefully accused Biden of the same offense that prompted the FBI to raid former President Trump’s Florida estate last August. The newly minted Republican chairmen of two House committees announced investigations of Biden — but not of Trump or former Vice President Mike Pence, who confessed that he too had found classified documents at home. Democrats lamented that Biden and his staff had squandered the moral high ground.
The differences between the cases are significant. Trump took hundreds of classified documents home; Biden a far smaller number, assuming no more turn up. Trump resisted returning documents to the government; Biden’s lawyers turned them in promptly. Trump appears to have held on to documents on purpose; Biden’s aides say his mistakes were inadvertent.
Still, the impact of the Biden documents is likely to extend beyond whataboutism and congressional hearings. Former prosecutors say the discoveries will make it more difficult for Jack Smith, the special prosecutor investigating Trump, to indict the former president for his Mar-a-Lago misdeeds.

“Mis-steps”
His “Misstep” equals blatant treason to sell America out!
The LA Times says that “the differences between the cases are significant”.
Well, yes. As president, Trump had the broad power to declassify documents. As vice president, Biden did not have that authority.
Funny how the LA Times forgot to mention that fact.
Oh well.
Trump’s documents were in a locked room guarded by secret service. Biden’s were all over the place.
Trump’s documents were in a locked room guarded by secret service. Biden’s were all over the place.
Nobody cared if Presidents or VP’s have left over classified docs ( almost everything is marked classified ) until the FBI’s and Media’s overreaction with Trump
Now Biden did the same thing
Comical
It is claimed Biden turned his documents over quickly.
Wasn’t it actually after several years?
Wonder if they will ever tell us what are in these documents.
A typical left wing article full of BS. The posts above cover the BS nicely. The biggest being that Biden was Vice President at the Time and Trump was President at the time. Also how the material was stored. However the lefties eat this BS right up.
Document misstep, really! like an unfortunate homicide
Trump’s a saint compared to the Biden crime family. Look at Trump’s kid and look at Biden’s kid...
The Biden family is like watching a satanic version of Hee Haw.
FJB is a crook as is his offspring, Bobby. Trump isn’t. IMHO.

Wondering if te Demorats are going to punish Biden, then treat Trump as though equally crooked?
Voters’ memories are easily purged.
sorry, but no
they are trying to use Trump to get the FJB off now...
but they can’t, because Trump declas’ed his files and Jo took his for personal gain and is going down!
Trump not so much
“As president, Trump had the broad power to declassify documents. As vice president, Biden did not have that authority.”
Com’on Man. A mere technicality.
The L.A.Times like all the Democrat ‘news’ outlets is in full Xover his arse mode and really kinda funny to see.
