“So you are rooting for Russia over NATO and America?”

That’s an interesting reply. Personally that’s not my interpretation. However it’s up to the OP to say.

But your tagline is what interests me. “- - and RA under Nixon, bemoaning the pro-Russians from Vietnam to Ukraine.”

I was also an RA under Nixon and am very much aware of the Russian participation in the Vietnam War. But that was 50 years ago. During that time the Soviet Union fell and the US has become more communist. We are now the ones fighting wars all over the place. Yes, Russia has something going on in Syria and Africa, but their adventures are pale compared to our wars since the Soviet Empire fell.

Personally, I’m not in favor of the Russians in Uke war. The war needs to end soon before it goes nuke. And we have no business supplying the Ukes. It’s a European war, the European Union should be footing the bill and supplying arms, not us.

Even if Russia attacks NATO outside of Ukraine?

______________________________________________________

If by NATO and American you mean the current neo-con version of US foreign policy prominent since George Bush senior, then “yes.” That needs to be brought down a peg or two.

If you mean NATO and America you mean you mean a restrained foreign policy TRULY built to defend Western Europe and the US from conquest, then “no”.

From what I’ve seen, Russia has had absolutely no desire to turn Ukraine into wasteland nor conquer the whole country. There is no way that Russia is capable of defeating the NATO powers proper especially with US intervention to their defense....absolutely no way.

The poster answered yes in post 20 and my tagline is not about ‘Russia’ from Vietnam to Ukraine, but the Russia supporters we always have to deal with.

I could have gone back to the 1920s, but I meant my lifetime.

This war isn’t about any purported U.S. provocations, it’s about Putin’s denial that Ukraine is a legitimate nation and his desire to restore “full sovereignty” over “historical Russia.” In other words, it’s a Russia imperial project, nothing more and nothing less.

You used to post Ukraine 1991-2022 RIP.

I guess you’ll keep repeating it until Russia 1750-2023, eh?

Matters not, everyone knows the Ukies are spent, on their 12th mobilization of old men, depopulated, deenergized, deindustrialized and begging for arms, ammo, equipment.

Sorry, unless the collective West escalates,(which they are), the welfare nation will finally have to go to the table in a position of severe weakness.

I can see it bothers you terribly Ukraine has genuine friends who support it based on a shared history of genocide and mass murder committed by Russia. Meanwhile, Russia begs the likes of Death to America Iran and North Korea for old surplus military junk.

Does this sound sane? The collective West has gone insane.

Former Foreign Minister and former head of the Office of the President of Poland, MEP Anna Fotyga: “Russia must cease to exist in its current borders, the collapse of the “aggressive empire” would bring undeniable advantages to the democratic states of Europe and Central Asia. “There is no such thing as Russian gas, oil, aluminum, coal, uranium, diamonds, grain, timber, gold, etc. All these resources belong to the individual peoples living in these territories.”

Was the Kremlin shooting 20,000 Poles in the head at Katyn “sane”?

The Poles know Russia. I’ll take their analysis of this situation any day over empire building and mass murdering Kremlin filth. Millions died in the last century due to Kremlin policy decisions. Hundreds of thousands already dead in this century. Russia makes the same mistakes over and over. The world would undoubtedly be a better place without a Russia raping its neighbors and threatening to nuke us.
